My husband is a homebody. His ideal day would be no schedule, hanging out around the house, maybe going for a beer somewhere or going to the Terrace (a lakeside hangout on the UW campus). My parents were going to come over but ended up not. We did go for a beer and we cooked dinner together. LO took a 2 1/2 hour nap in the morning! Overall it was a low-key day but I think he really enjoyed it.
His gift is a puppy that we picked out a couple weeks ago. We don't pick her up until the end of the month though. I did give him a card from A.
We went to my dad and had beers by the pool Put E in her pool toys, which she enjoyed. Then got in a fight when we got home. We're still not getting along well. The 3 1/2 hour drive we're getting ready to take Thursday should be a wonderful time...
Ours was good. We hung out at my sister's house. Layla went into a real pool for the first time. I distinctly saw tears in Tim's eyes when he looked at the first installment of his father's day scrapbook I put together for him. I'm glad it ment a lot to him. Overall a good day.
We had brunch with DH's family then lunch with mine. C slept in the car between visits and was awesome, aside from peeing and vomiting on my Mom. DH was home in time for the Yankees game and got a bj*. Good day had by all.
* My contribution to livening things up around here. You're welcome.
We had a great weekend. DH enjoys poker so we packed up the car and headed to Foxwoods in CT Saturday. We hung out at the hotel pool in the afternoon when we arrived. B went swimming for the first time. We had dinner in the room then B and I went to bed and DH went off to play cards.
Sunday we spent the day in Mystic. We hit up the aquarium then walked around the shops. On the way home, stopped at out favorite Mexican place for dinner.
Lots of firsts....first night away from home with the kid, first pool, first aquarium, and most importantly, first Father's Day! It was a great weekend!
Can't figure out the signature thing, so here's the short, short version.....first daughter born on November 10, 2013. She was conceived through the magic of IVF after 2+ years of TTC.
We went to breakfast- crazy huh, then visited some friends that just had a little girl- 3 weeks old- too cute.
It was amazing to see how far LO has come when compared to the little newborn.,
I think it's a little unfair that since fathers day is so much less a big deal than Mother's Day - at least for our families- I feel like DH got to have the day to himself and we could do whatever he wanted. While for mothers day I had to drive all over in order to see his mom and my mom and didn't get much say in the day! Next year I think I'm putting my foot down.
We had breakfast with my dad then went to the boardwalk. Dads rode free on the rides which was awesome because boardwalk rides make me vomit so he took the big kids on rides. Each kid won a prize. It was a fun day but then during the night my grandfather passed away. We are sad but he was very sick so there is also a sense of peace.

@Kim22 I am so sorry about your grandfather! I am sure that was hard. I'll keep you all in my T&P's!
I feel kind of guilty. Saturday was a rough day of the PPD variety and I feel like I kind of jipped DH out of his first Father's Day. He got up with B on Sunday morning and made me muffins. I ended up sleeping until like 11:00, then he took me shopping : \ He did totally love his present and we hit up his favorite restaurant next to the mall we went to. He said that it was perfect because he got some daddy bonding time with B and then we spent the day as a family, so I think he enjoyed the day, I just feel bad about it.
