Pregnant w/ boy vs. girl

Do You Gain More Weight In Your Butt And Thighs When Pregnant with A Boy?

I'm just curious on other woman's experiences when being pregnant with a girl, vs. a boy. When I was pregnant with my daughter. I gained a total of 40 pounds, and it was mostly all in my belly. I didn't really gain a lot of excess weight on my legs or butt and now I'm pregnant with a boy and I swear my butt and thighs are getting bigger.I know I will lose all this weight once baby is born, but I'm kind of insecure about my body, and I don't think I can stand to watch my thighs and butt get huge. I do still try to get some walking in when I can. What was your experiences with being pregnant with a boy? Thanks for all who answer.

Re: Pregnant w/ boy vs. girl

  • No, there was not any difference in my weight distribution based on whether the baby was a boy or a girl. With my first two pregnancies (a boy then a girl), I gained about 35 lbs in each, and the weight pretty much went everywhere. With my last pregnancy (a girl), I only gained 2 lbs, and my belly was definitely the only part of me that grew. This time, I'm currently down about 14 lbs, and again, my belly is the only place I've seen getting bigger.

Your weight distribution might change with each pregnancy just because bodies change and react differently sometimes; it might also happen if you're a different starting weight than you were last time (because your weight may already be distributed differently). It will definitely not be because of the baby being a boy or a girl.

  • Thanks Ladies. I was a lot smaller before I got pregnant this time around so my weight is probably just going everywhere. With my first two pregnancies both were girls I was all belly! This time around I feel like I'm getting deep and wide....LoL Oh well, I will drop it off once baby boy is here!!!
