Anyone else have tailbone pain?

Mostly hurts when I've been sitting then stand up to walk or shortly after sitting back down. It feels bruised! What is this about? Women at work look at me crazy when I tell them about it lol

  • Yes! I think it's from sitting at work. Sometimes it feels numb. I have been going to the chiropractor and it seems help.

  • If I sit too long yes, I have some. What bothers me more is the internal popping of my hip bones I think.

  • @chardonnay24   I have chronic tailbone pain since giving birth 1.5 years ago.  I kept waiting for it to go away, but maybe I'm stuck with it.  At times it has been very bad.  Has your doctor said anything about it?  I haven't mentioned it to mine.  I'm a little worried how this labor will affect it.

Is this not suppose to happen? Mine have done that for as long as I can remember..
  • Mine has been since day one of the pregnancy and actually was always painful for the two weeks after ovulation and before my period. Dr said it could be because I broke it and sometimes progesterone can effect the ligaments around it which can cause pain.

  • Yes! It just started in the last week or so along with lower back pain. Fun stuff!

I mentioned it to my midwife but she didn't seem too concerned about it. She told me we could try physical therapy and showed me a couple stretches. I also have been to a chiropractor several times, which hasn't helped. I am harboring this secret fantasy that all my tailbone pain will disappear after I give birth again.

  • Yes I also have tailbone pain if I sit for too long it was worse a few weeks ago seems better lately... Now I feel like my pubic bone is going to pop in half sometimes lol I know everything is loosening up down there but it's a weird sensation sometimes!
  • It started on Sunday for me, a sharp pain in my rear to the right of my tailbone (the side I mostly carry DS on). My OB gave me a couple of sheets of back exercises to do to help with it but they all involve laying flat on my back. Needless to say I can't do them for too long because laying on my back is way too uncomfortable.
