Temurlang2 (credit to
@LoHerrim for coming up with that) born June 8th at 11:28 pm. 6 lb. 2 oz., 19 inches.
During the week leading up to labor, I had been having some symptoms such as diarrhea, losing the MP, and the random contraction here and there. I was having regular NSTs due to low fluid levels and the morning of Sunday the 8th I went in for one. That morning I woke up with regular (5 minutes apart) but non-painful contractions, which I mentioned at the NST. The nurse was sure I wasn't in labor (I was 37 weeks and it was a hot day), but she wanted to admit me for low fluid levels. My OB said I could go home, so I did.
Around 5:30 the contractions started becoming intense, so we decided to wait until 9:00 and then go to the hospital. I have a phobia of hospitals, so I didn't want to go too early, but it can take 45 minutes to get there. By 6:30 I couldn't talk or move during the contractions, so DH called the OB who said to head in. By that time it was hard for me to move at all, so we couldn't leave until 7:45 when I managed to get myself to the car. The contractions worsened significantly during the drive, and DH was forced to do some exciting maneuvers, including passing people on the on ramp.
I was admitted at 8:30, and went to pee. I had the bloody show, shortly followed by my water breaking. I was between 3 and 4, so they predicted a morning delivery. I felt kind of wimpy that I was already crying through the contractions, but I thought by morning I would be exhausted, so I asked for an epidural. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to move or push, but they told me I would, which was true. The got me into my room by 9:30, my OB came, and I got the epidural. By that time I was also shaking. My OB told me he would go take a nap (he lives around the corner from the hospital) and come back early morning.
Shortly thereafter, they called him to come back. He checked and I was 10 and complete. Someone said "already?" and he replied, "I can see hair, and it's outside!" All of a sudden there were a bunch of people in the room and my OB threw scrubs at DH and ordered him front and center. They had me go in a frog-legged crunch position. I pushed about three times and heard a cry. DH handed a tiny person to me who looked at me with big eyes and then started BFing like a pro. They were so happy with Temurlang2's progress that we went home barely 36 hours after we were admitted.
