  • Ooo also Joe rearranged our living room today to make more room for baby stuff lol. He did this while home with Isla. image

  • That's awesome. Isla rolls, and she scoots her legs, but she doesn't move her arms with them. Once she can figure out to move her arms too, we are in trouble.

  • @bjd316‌
I'm in Canada and if we want to take our LOs across the border they need a passport.

There is a 'free' replacement for young children to update pic (so I've heard...but I haven't verified). Maybe a kid's passport is only good for 5 years?

Our passports have only recently changed to a 5 or 10 year renewal. Previously it was either 3 or 5 years, or 5 or 7 years. (I forget which. We have a lot of stuff with weird renewal years)

Does anyone by chance know if we wanted to go to Canada with dd if we need to get her a passport? I told my husband I think we do and he said that doesn't make sense because they are good for 10 years and she will look completely different.

I would check online but I'm only mobile temporarily and some sites are a pain mobile.

From everything I've read, you just need her birth certificate. At least I hope so because we are driving from Detroit to buffalo through Canada next week!

@CruiseGirl28‌ you're DH is awesome and your living room looks great.

@WoodShopGirl‌ congrats on the new job! FX you find good daycare asap.

  • Land ans Sea crossings you only need a birth certificate for kids under 16. Go by airplane and you need a passport for all.

  • I just looked up more info about the passport thing. If you're driving into Canada with a baby/child, you only need their birth certificate as long as both parents are there. With only one parent, it looks more complicated. If you're flying in/out of Canada, your baby would need a passport.

    Hope this makes sense.

@bjd316‌ - we're planning on spending a day at niagra falls on our trip to buffalo (BIL lives there). I'm pretty excited because I haven't been there since I was in elementary school.

  • One parent you just need to get a letter from the other parent saying you have permission to take the child from x amount of days and such not complicated at all.

  • mia scoots with her arms and legs. can't figure out how to move the rest of her body though, stuck on the floor.

i hope no one is in Nebraska right now with the tornado that isn't moving like at all.

Oh boy. The random from the FB page just pulled the hormone card....
Oh, no really? That's terrible!! I think what was said is : "A couple of months ago I would blame snarky comments on hormones but it's too late at this point"... so no, I didn't really pull the hormone card.

  • @amdecker1016‌ I'm in Nebraska. We've had some pretty devastating tornadoes in the last 24 hours. When I was a kid my town got so messed up that people were living in my high school gym. Midwest weather is no joke.
yeah, it looks awful on the live stream i'm watching. i love storm chasers....but hate storms here. go figure.
anyway, this one is west of sioux city.
    stay safe bunny!

  • Not gonna lie - I'm kinda relieved there's a new random thread.  I fell behind while learning how to do this parenting thing and by the time we got into a manageable day/routine, I was behind by more than 2k posts.  Now I'm 3.5k behind.  I feel like if this becomes the new post I may be able to keep up and actually, oh, participate again.

This! I just couldn't keep up. I think I posted only once or twice. It was overwhelming! X_X

  • Colton has been sleeping for 10 hours I think I am going to wake him up. He is going to be starving and I just pumped 13oz!
  • I also agree with the random thread being overwhelming.  I know I don't participate much but I do read a lot of it.  I'm back to work now so it's even harder to keep up.

My random for the day: LO was 3 months yesterday.  A year ago to the day, I miscarried our February baby.  What a difference a year makes.
  • I came across this and it's weird. Some people are freaks!

I heard somewhere that the new trendy energy drink among some elite athletes is breastmilk.... Yuck!

lol I don't see an issue with this. I would do it if they agreed to let me pump right there and hand them the fresh stuff.
I've also thought that body builders and athletes would be super into BM. Makes sense since it's full of casin (sp?)
  • Does anyone else try to make sneezing exciting for them? My niece would cry every time she sneezed, maybe it scared her so my mom just would smile and be all goofy so I started doing it.... She usually smiles at me if I'm smiling at her. ;) My niece still smiles after sneezing, she's 2.
Sharkie loves when I sneeze, he finds it fascinating (if a bit jarring.

Though if he is sleeping on me and I sneeze, game over.

No issues with wet nursing...then I read adult recipient.

Honestly I could still be ok with it for other people, your body whatevs, but that totally squicks me out.  I also wouldn't want to screw with my childs supply.

Why yuck? We give it to babies because it is the most likely the perfect food for them. Some people consider breastmilk from another woman to be the next option rather than formula. We drink cow milk from any cow, not our personal mommy cow.

I guess I just don't get squicked out about it. Alien foods and chemical weird me out more than breastmilk.

Wet nurse (contact) for a baby, doesn't bother me. Contact from anyone else...there are no words.

No it was for an adult male. He said he was in his mid 40s. It was listed under healthcare jobs. Mh wanted to try to sell him my freezer stash. His life was threatened at that moment!

@saisongbird‌ you are indeed screwed! Niklas did this, and started crawling at 4.5 months and walking at 9.5 and hasn't stopped since. This one on the other hand is like a roman emperor, only wants to lay on his back and refuses to even roll.... I'm actually starting to great out about this.
Layla is refusing to roll as well.  She can, and she has a few times.  But now she just lies there until she puts her head down and starts sucking her hand.

Layla finally went down for the night, so I'm drinking to celebrate the end of the school year.  My husband is shaking his head at me.  But I think it's just because he still has to work.  Sucker.
