Well, I saw my attorney today since BD, or DB (douchebag...I kinda like that better) pretty much refuses to help support his kid unless I drop the existing child support order that's still ON HOLD because he was in jail. Fucker didn't even get her a damn gallon of milk last week when I asked him to. So, since she was born 15 months ago I've pretty much received no help from him financially. Since he doesn't want to pay I refuse to let him see her. Legally, I don't have to since there is still a no contact order in place that lasts 2 years, I have sole legal and physical custody, and there is not yet a visitation order in place.
According to my attorney, the original support order can now be enforced so he notified Friend of the Court. He also drafted a new motion to amend the original support order since they totally screwed up on the amount he makes ($8 vs $14 plus lots of OT) and our transitional medicaid ran out so my health insurance went up $200 a month. The best part...if he and his attorney object to the new order if/when it goes into play then they will probably have to pay my attorney's fees. Today was the first time I've actually appreciated my attorney.
While I believe 100% that both parents should have to pay for their offspring, not getting support is especially hard for me right now because, being type-1 diabetic, the medication that literally keeps me alive costs over $150 a month with my insurance alone. Not much corner cutting I can do there.
