Re: Would you get Botox?

  • Maybe. I am not a fan of my forehead lines, but the entire idea kind of freaks me out.

I've done it and loved it. Best place is between your eyes or your forehead. Remember that fillers and Botox do different things so beware of thinking that it is a filler for wrinkles. It simply relaxes the muscle so that wrinkle doesn't appear when you make that expression. Go easy on it, don't over do it!

    Eta autocorrect dammit

  • Absolutely! I almost wish I was wrinkly enough now. Ok, not really.

  • I'm not worried about needles but probably need to do more research on long term effects of Botox.
  • I said SS because ask me again in 10 years.
  • I would try it.

Not now. Maybe down the road at some point.

Now, if we are talking frree lipo / tummy tuck, sign me up for that right MEOW.

This. After a 10lb 9 oz baby and a baby that wants to match or better his/ her sister in the size department, my belly could use a tuck.

One thing to add is the effects are VERY temporary. I think it wears off slowly over time but is completely gone by 3 months or so. You see optimal results within the first few weeks then it gradually wears off. I certainly never spent money on it (worked for a derm) I wouldn't pay over $200 every 3 months on anything beauty related.

  • I don't think I'd get it for wrinkles, but I have had it in my armpits twice in the past (for free). I'd consider that again if it were really affordable.

  • I voted Never but only bc there was no option for "ehhhh maybe when I'm 60". At the moment though, nope.

  • Seeing it from my friends that have done it I just wasn't impressed at all.  But if it's free I figure what have you got to lose?  I'm just going to save that money for my first facelift.

  • Yep. I love free shit.

I'm worried my love for free shit is foreshadowing my judgement

  • Is there a "I'd need to do more research option"? I've honestly never thought about it. So while I wouldn't rule it out, I'd definitely need to know more info before I made a decision.

;) I thought that's why I made the post. For my research. :)
Kidding. But I really do need to know long term effects. And once I start, do I have to do it every so often? ...and like a hundred other things

I get botox for migraines and he always jokes about giving me a free boost in my forehead. That stuff hurts lol

Wait. Botox hurts? Like more than a lil needle prick? Does it burn going in?

Keep in mind, the needles go into my skull. It burns and I hear it crunching through my head. My shoulder and forehead ones bleed like crazy. It hurts more than getting an IV but I don't think those hurt.
    Shoulders?

I'm ok with pain. Not gonna lie, I cringed when reading the crunch, but that's just something good to know. Doesn't make me think twice. Lol, I'm weird like that

    Nope, black don't crack.

    Lol. I've never heard this.
  • I wouldn't because the idea of injecting a disease into my face is yeeesh. I would be all over a free neck lipo/lift though. Thanks for the turkey neck gene, Dad.

  • DH gets 2 vials of Botox every 6 months in his armpits to control his sweating. It does wear off over time...I can't imagine getting a billion needles in my armpits in one sitting.
I might try it in my face...the high maintenance is taking over with me.
  • Yup, I paid for it last summer and it looked awesome. I plan to get it again when I'm not pregnant.  It's a little expensive around here - $450 for two "sites" on my forehead which I needed.  Although my friend lives in NYC and pays double that for the same exact thing, so $450 didn't seem as bad when I heard that.

It took about 5 months to wear off for me.
