Last few days of second leap - baby is exhausted

This little girl has been so sleepy today. We did a lot this weekend but she has also been taking nothing but 30-45 minute naps the last few days. This is just such a switch from what I have been dealing with now of course I am wondering if something is wrong, LOL. Anyone else seeing this sudden switch in their LO?

  • 30-45 is normal here. Good, even.

  • She slept all day yesterday. Today I got maybe a few 20-30 minute naps. She's confused.

  • We went through that 2 days ago-slept all day, but still on me. She napped in her bed yesterday, finally. Today she took a 3 hr nap, but she also got shots today. Not sure if we're back to normal, or if the shots caused it. I'm hoping for back to normal.

  • Mine had 3 days last week where all she did was sleep, eat and then sleep again. Today I have gottn 2 45 min naps. I miss those sleepy days...

  • Today has been like that here and its totally not her!  She slept all night and took 2 really long naps.  Usually she doesn't nap much at all during the day.

  • Days 1-3 after leap 2, LO slept for hours during the day. I either had to wear him or lay with him, but he was exhausted.

  • She is still wiped out today. Won't really nap on her own in her RNP but has slept on her boppy or my shoulder a few times already. And basically any time she starts nursing she falls asleep. Last night she slept for 8.5 hours straight.

  • The first day of this leap, LO was awake all.day.long., save for one 30-minute nap. The next day, she slept almost the entire day (even though I tried my best to wake to feed!). Now today, day three, she seems like she's back to 45-minute naps. I was panicky yesterday with all that sleeping & wish I would've just stopped & enjoyed some free time !

  • @Cecilbear - I agree. Instead of being worried that she was so tired I should have taken advantage of it. Today she is still tired but will only sleep on me or on her boppy on my lap.

  • @*sparky* Yes! Same here. I am typing with this little one snuggled up on my lap. I really need to pee and have been trying to decide: uncomfortable bladder or cranky baby? :)

  • My LO's leap started the day after her first vaccinations!!! OMG!!! I wanted to get in the car and never come back! We've got 5 more days to the end and it's been a mix. Sleepy days and super cranky day with no sleep. She's also just discovered her hands and likes to chew on them as well as make bubbles and drool. She also is giving more smiles and a giggle here and there in between the gas pains. Surprisingly last night she slept in her bassinet instead of her RnP. I hope she does that tonight.
  • @nycgirlkat - oh that sounds rough! Of course we will just be coming out of the leap when my LO gets her shots.

  • LO has been gracing us with the cat naps all day during this leap too; however what is getting me is at night instead of going back to sleep after feeding he is laying there eyes wide open wanting to talk. And he did the other night for an hour and a half! Nothing about our routine has changed so this leap is all I can chalk it up to. Holy moly I hope he goes back to his normal naps soon!
