The recent diaper discussion reminded me of this. Even though we are all at different timing when it comes to starting AF again, what do/did you use?

  • Since trying it, I have become a huge advocate of the cup!

All of my fears of mess and comfort were completely squashed! I used to be a skeptic but now I'm a believer.

  • Lol @arya808 I will tell you anyways!

The cup is exactly what it sounds like. A few times a day, dump, rinse, repeat. Mama cloth is a cloth pad that you wash like cloth diapers.

I thought they were gross at first too. After I tried the cup though it was totally fine! The cloth pads grossed me out longer but now that we CD I can see how it would work.

  • I use the cup with a pad underneath.  I started using the cup just before I got pregnant and love it but it does sometime leak for me (I am probably just not using it right)

  • Pre-pregnancy I used just tampons and hope to get back to using just that again but these last two periods have required a tampon and a pad fail-safe. Ugh.

  • Love the Kotex U line of tampons they work great. On the 1-2 heavy days I have I use the super plus tampon with a panty liner and I'm good to go.

Pre-pregnancy, I bled like Niagara falls (no joke) so I had to use a tampon and a pad!! One night I woke up to pee and then blood just gushed out..all over the freaking carpet. So at 2am I was scrubbing my damn carpet. No bueno.

I do a combination of pads and tampons usually.

  • I have zero interest in the cup. Tampons have worked fine for me for 20+ years. I have zero desire to switch.

Post baby you might need the next size up cup?  Most women do.

  • Diva Cup. I've used one for over 10 years and couldn't imagine going back to tampons.  My flow is so dang heavy that I would spend a fortune in tampons and pads and still have leaks, but I never had a leak with the cup.

  • I use tampons, pads and panti liners. I have pretty light periods. Have yet to have one pp.

They have a pre baby and post baby size for the cup. Those are the only two I've seen at least.

I used pads before switching to the cup 5 years ago. It was bad enough going back for pp bleeding! I feel much cleaner with it.

Also there are a few articles about people having shorter, less crampy periods with the cup/cloth!

  • Tampons and pads for me. They do the job.

  • Can't use tampons, I get toxic shock. I've never considered the cup but might look into it. Pads are inconvenient.
  • Love my diva cup!
