Question about Baby's Face/Forehead

Do any of your babies have little "spots" and/or marks between their eyes, above their nose that almost look like bruises?  I don't see how she would've gotten bruises.  I'm wondering if its more like veins and stuff showing through the thin skin. And she's very fair skinned.  She also has a pretty prominent forehead.  I tend to worry about little things so its probably normal.

Re: Question about Baby's Face/Forehead

  • DS had a spot like that and it was a vein. He's three now and you can't see it. A cousin said that his kids had one too.

  • Yep, both of my kids have/had it on the bridge of their noses. Dd is almost 3 and it's gone now.

  • They are commonly called "stork bites", and they are very, very normal. Kiddo had one from birth and it is now all but gone at four years old. Tessa did not have one. Nothing at all to worry about! From what I remember, it is a little section of broken blood vessels in between the eyebrows that often appears as a result of the birthing process.
  • DD has one on the bridge of her nose. I kept thinking it was dirt and trying to wipe it off before I realized what it was haha
  • DS has one on his eyebrow I always wondered what that was!
  • Yup, stork bites, Emma has one on her eye lid.

As soon as I read this before I saw the pic I thought stork bite. DS apparently got into an all out brawl with the stork he is covered in them. They are on his forehead, eyelids, nose, and back of the head and neck. Pedi said the ones on his face will go away by 18 months you can only really see them when he's mad or upset. She said the ones on the back if his head and neck will just get lighter but will always be there. SO still has one on the back of his neck I think it's cute DS will have one to match his daddy's.
  • My DS has one on his forehead & back of his neck. I blame it on being stuck & forcing a csection.

  • Mine has a big "V" storkbite on his forehead. It's already lightened up some, but gets really dark when he gets upset. Pedi said it'll eventually go away.

  • Ryver has one above her left eyebrow
  • My LO has one on the back of her head/neck. It's pretty large compared to the pictures above. Luckily she will have hair to cover it up... One day... She is one bald little girl :-)
