I look like I'm six months pregnant!

Seriously! What are you guys doing to combat this bloat? I am so uncomfortable.

    Picture!

I'm just trying to drink water, eat somewhat healthy (not really successful at that one), and get a little exercise.

  • I too feel like I'm growing rapidly!! I naturally carry my weight in my boobs n belly. I purchased some maternity clothes for later in my pregnancy and I'm finding I'm already wearing them any chance I get!!! I went for an early ultrasound (dating) because I was curious to see if there were more than 1 baby (there was just one). I even told some of my co workers earlier than I wanted because I felt like I was showing a lot.
  • i asked SO this morning if i looked like i got really fat over the last few weeks, and he got kind of quiet and said, "not really..."  (i don't ask questions that i don't want an honest answer to, FTR.  lol)  later today we were at the zoo with DS and during a bathroom break i caught sight of my profile in the mirror there.  *sigh*  LH's parents are visiting next weekend and i know i'm going to have to tell them then, because there's no hiding this.  i said as much to SO, and he kind of smiled and said, "you know, when you asked if you looked like you'd gotten fat this morning, what i wanted to say was, 'no, you look knocked up.'"  evidently he didn't want to say as much because he knows baby is small and tucked away yet and didn't want to make me feel bad.

  • I was literally JUST saying this to DH. We have zero history of twins on either side of our family, but I kind of joked I wanted to make sure there was just one in there! He told me I'd have to get a second husband! HA!! I couldn't deal with more than 1 man!
  • I felt like a beached whale trying to roll in bed the other night. This cannot happen already. The bloat was bad, way bad. The other day we went swimming. I was looking at myself in my bikini in the mirror and I said to dh, "I look bigger already." He agreed by saying, "yeah, you do. Your hips got wider." Don't agree with me!

  • As soon as my appetite came back so did the bloat. Look 18 weeks not 8 and my aunt asked me today if any life altering events might be coming up. Glad she was tactful but I couldn't spill the beans yet. Love to rock the bloat but I hope I don't get questions, or my mom or sister don't get asked. May invest in a belly wrap... Ugh.

  • Pre-preggo I was still comfortably rocking my size 5 jeans.  At 4 weeks along my jeans were definitely far from comfortable so to combat feeling bloated I changed over to stretchy jeans and size 7s and 9s.  By 6 weeks my uniform pants were snug, now at 11 wks they're almost unbearable...so now I too am happily wearing comfortable maternity pants at a mere 11 weeks in.  I made it to 16-18 weeks with DS so my fit mom pride has been put away and I will gladly rock the bump/bloat in loose, stretchy, comfortable clothes that don't make me feel as bloated as I look. :-)

Dh said last night that he can definitely see a bump. It wasn't there a month ago

  • I know it's not a bump in that it's not uterus and baby but my body has completely changed. I've put on 4 lbs half of which has to be in my boobs at nearly 10 weeks. I finally caved and got the belly bands from target. I never thought this would be a problem before 15/16 weeks but I am trying not to let myself get upset.
  • Rocked my first pair of maternity jeans (gray ones from H&M) today at lunch.  They are so comfortable.  I am 10 weeks, and I naturally gain weight in my tummy area.  I eat every two hours and I've had NO morning sickness.  I was taking Gas X to help with the bloat, but it just doesn't work anymore.

Is GasX ok for pregnancy? I feel like it would help because really, I take two bites of anything and you an literally watch my tummy blow up like a balloon. It's quite disturbing!
  • I am the same way...one of my patients asked when the baby was due and then said August? I said no not til January and he said...what do you 3 in there?? Son people just don't know when to shut up!!
  • Mine starts slightly bigger than normal and then by bedtime l look at least 5-6 months :-(

  • I complain to my husband i look fat and im gaining weight and he just looks at me dumbfounded and says well thats what your supposed to do lol.

im not bumpy just getting wider around the middle from bloat!

  • I broke out the maternity pants this AM.  The "half-zipped pants with a belly band" is just not comfortable anymore.  Blah!  I don't look KU yet, just fatter.

Loving this post. Up until 3 days ago, I was bloated but still looked like me. At the end of the day, my stomach is puffed out like I am 5 mons preggo! Get me out of this first tri so I can wear maternity clothes guilt-free!

  • I keep going through my closet trying to find a dress, skirt and shirt or pants and a shirt that will hide the bloat from my boss.  He comes into town once a month and I wanted to wait to tell him until July. *sigh* There is no hiding it.  It is what it is. I look like I did 4-5 months pregnant last time and I am just about 10 weeks.   Guess he will find out a bit sooner than I wanted to tell him.

  • I got asked on Friday if I was 5 months pregnant, so I feel you. I'm just wearing loose skirts/dresses and if I wear a tighter shirt, I'm embracing my bump...even if it is still all just bloat :)

I'm 7 weeks I look like I'm 5 months pregnant...not fun lol on top of which twins run in my husband's family... He was born a twin (his twin didn't make it) and his sister had twins... and can't get in to the doc until july 1....
  • I take Colase twice a day to keep things moving along.  WIthout it I will only have a BM every 8-10 days.  I feel like it really helps with the bloat.  With that being said, I did slip on some maternity pants today at 11w2d

  • Just dress comfortably.  That is the best thing.  I know you may feel silly in maternity clothes so early but definitely wear whatever is comfortable!

Yes I totally get it, I wake up in the a.m with a stomach and end up with a partially deflated ballon. I'm trying to figure out why my stomach doesn't go down like it use to I'm only 9 weeks.
