TTC Check In

Happy Monday Morning!

How is your/your partner's TTC journey progressing? Let us know where you're at and what's happening.

***Reminder: If you have a BFP to post, please do not post it here. Please create a new thread so that everyone can see it. Thank you***

QOTW: What is your favorite summer drink (can be with or without alcohol)?

Me: 30  DW (aka C): 29

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm.  8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy.  We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET.  I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.

11/14/14 -  Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.

12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2

12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)

1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

Re: TTC Check In

  • I am 6 or 7dpIUI depending on how you count.  I am going in for my blood draw to see if I got a BFP on the 25th.  Right now I am having a hard time making excuses to not be drinking.  I have family up from out of state and my brothers wedding this Saturday and already last night everyone was over at my house for a cookout drinking while I had seltzer water.  R is convinced I am pregnant so I feel like it is going to be a big let down if I am not.

QOTW:  Margarita on the rocks no salt! But it needs to be drank sitting outside enjoying the sun while snacking on chips and salsa.

  • @Amber&Reva - FX that R is correct! Are you testing before your beta?

I am on day 7 of 21 for my BCPs. Thursday is my appointment for ute measurement, mock transfer and getting my calendar. The end goal feels far away, so I'm breaking it all down into little steps. Blood work was the first, starting BCPs the second and the appointment on Thursday is the third.

In an effort to not waste away the 5-6 weeks of my life that this is taking, I'm keeping a list of accomplishments for each day. I plan to do this at least up through transfer, but will probably include up through beta as well.

QOTW: My absolute favorite drink is unsweetened iced tea. I prefer to make it at home. If I don't have any, then Tim Horton's is the best!

  • Morning folks!  I'm 2 DPIUI.  Which means I had to start my progesterone yet again yesterday.  Tender boobs, mood swings, and crazy appetite to look forward to the next 2 weeks :P

To be honest, you guys, I'm not at all optimistic about this cycle.  I've had 4 perfectly timed IUIs before this one and yet here I am, without even a hint of a pregnancy.  I only did this because I had a free vial of sperm left from the Fairfax pregnancy pledge and since it's under my name, C can't use it.

So I'm just going to hang out and endure the 2WW as best I can.  I hate to be a downer but it just seems like there must be something going on in my body that won't allow me to get pregnant via IUI.  Don't know if IVF is in my future or not.  It may be something I'll think about in the future.  For now, I'm ready to let C give it a go.

GTKY: My favorite summer drink is probably a wheat beer mixed with orange juice.  A beer-mosa, if you will ;) Good stuff!

  • @StacyLH24 having a list of things to get accomplished is a great idea especially if it helps pass the time before your first transfer.

@Wishiwaspreggo FX that you are wrong and this is the cycle you get your BFP.  From a lot of the reading I had done it said 6 months/ 6 tries is very typically for how long it takes a couple to conceive.

I may test before the 25th.  UP to date I never took an early pregnancy test but I really want to test the day of my brother wedding just to solidify the reason I am not drinking but at the same time if I get a BFN I don't want to be upset and more tempted to drink because I know it is over until I get my period.

  • @TwoMomsInTX We are currently in our 2ww after doing IVF. Our RE went over all the paperwork we had to fill out and sign and when we got to the part about genetic testing she told us all about it, but just like you we wanted a fresh transfer and our insurance didn't cover it so we would have to pay out of pocket. Our RE basically told us not to do it because I'm young (33) and she didn't think it was necessary. L and I didn't even talk about it, we just checked the no box.

So here I am. 8dp5dt and I'm going crazy. It so hard to tell symptoms because the Crinone gives you a bunch. I have itchy boobs, headaches, frequent urination, fatigue. I also have some mild cramping and some activity going on in my uterus. Today I have some light spotting so of course I start to freak out. Called my REs office and the physician assistant said the light spotting and mild cramping were normal. Ahhh just sucks we have to wait till Friday for the beta. We did break down Sunday and I POAS. I also did it today after I noticed the spotting. I told myself I wasn't going to test because I was trying not to think about it and obsess over it. Well that plan went out the window :)

QOTW: I'm not a mixed drink kinda lady although I do like the occasional Pina coloda. Goose Island Brewery makes a yummy beer called Summertime. Its only available during the spring/summer and I have been waiting for it to come out. L just read they stopped making it. Sad day :(

  • @TwoMomsInTX‌ Our RE didn't tell us about the knowing of the sex and I'm not sure I like that idea or them even knowing. We don't plan on finding out what we are having till the baby is born and I would be afraid they would slip and say something or it would be on my paperwork!

IVF #2  Fresh Cycle Scheduled for December 2014

  • We are 13dpo, nearing the end of a particularly taxing TWW. Had a few symptoms out of the ordinary for me so even though a couple early tests were bfn we're still hopeful. If this isn't our month then it looks like we'll sit the next cycle out. Refocus and save cash for the following cycle.

Fav drink- good old h2o, always loved it. Not exciting but it think it's great.
  • We took a cycle off after IUI#4, which was such a needed mental break.

Back now for the next round. The plan was to try letrezole this time since Clomid did not work. But I was out of town for CD3 which would be the u/s to check for cysts. The RE office gave the OK to start medication without the u/s. I am too worried about bad effects of the medications without that day 3 u/s so I didn't start it.  Planning for IUI this weekend.

DW wants to request back to back IUI to better ensure good timing. Any thoughts out there on benefits of 2 IUI per cycle?

  • Hello! I am currently 5dpIUI. I'm trying to stay positive that this cycle will end in a BFP, but at the same time I do not want to get too excited and jinx it. RE said that we can start testing on the 27, but that is entirely too long for me. I will probably test early. In other news, I started a new position at work which is helping me keep my mind off the TWW. Good luck everyone!!

QOTW: there's beats an ice cold beer during the summer.

PS I typed this up on my phone so please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors.
