Teething Biscuits/Cookies

Has anyone gave their LO teething cookies/biscuits?  My LO is teething (she has her 1st 2 bottom teeth).. and I tried giving her the mum mums, and she bit a piece off and kinda gagged/choked.. so I immediatley threw it away and said no way... maybe I over-reacted but Im terrified that my LO is going to choke and I wont be able to help her.  I am CPR certified (as i took the course when LO was born).. but still.. I guess im a bit nervous.

The reason I ask is because I seen some gerber teething cookies, but they seem so easy to bite off/crush. I remember back year ago, they had these cookies that seemed hard as a rock so babies could gnawl on them with the gums and not be able to break off until it was soggy enough from their saliva... but I havent been able to find anything like this hard enough... have any of you?

Re: Teething Biscuits/Cookies

  • thanks for your responses... I bought a mesh holder thingy that i put bananas, sliced carrots, and other soft veggies/fruits, in so that she can actually chomp on without chunks actually going in her mouth.. she seems to love it... I think I will just hold off a little longer until I think shes ready to actually swallow something other than baby food.

I did the little yums teething wafers and he had no problem with them (6 months tomorrow). They dissolved and he didn't gag or choke on them. Each baby is different though.

Eta: it did however make a big mess once soggy but he loved them and it was something to occupy him while I made his food
