Intro

Hi ladies,

I used to be quite present on TB many years ago, but dropped off after the constant loss reminder was too much for my emotions.

I am 35 and DH is 42. We had a loss at 8 weeks almost 4 years ago. After trying for about 2 more years with no success, we went to the specialist who essentially said that I have crappy eggs and not many of them and that DH has a few minor problems that, combined with mine, are keeping us from conceiving. He recommended skipping straight to IVF if we wanted to have children. As you all know, that is QUITE costly so we were saving and deciding what (if anything) we wanted to do. We had avoided the topic, then discussed it, not making any solid decisions.....

Fast forward to last month. Every year, we go to the beach for a week for our birthdays (they are 4 days apart) and we were finally able to relax for the first time in a LONG time. We went to dinner at the wine bar and spent the evening at a piano bar and had way too much to drink........needless to say, all of a sudden, I find myself 6 weeks pregnant with TWINS. We are OVER THE MOON excited and even more terrified. My progesterone at 4w5d was 50.5 and my HcG was 2200 and it TRIPLED in two days. They suspected the twins then, but didn't say anything LOL! I have one SIL in labor and delivery and one SIL that works for an OBGYN, not to mention a PA friend that works in OB. Ultrasound at 5w5d looked great, with the babies in separate sacs pretty far away from each other (which they said was good?). No heartbeats to be seen yet, but they didn't seem worried about that at all, so I'm trying not to be a freak about it either. I go back on July 2 and can't WAIT. I've been sick and more exhausted than I ever realized I could be.

I've been lurking on this particular board for a few days, as nobody would know the fear like you ladies do. I can't wait to be a part of the community again. I'll get a siggy soon, swear
