https://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/04/23/a-surprising-risk-for-toddlers-at-playground-slides/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0 here's one article I found if anyones curious. It's not the one I read initally but it has good info.
SO...yesterday I was working from home. Kept pushing hubby to take DD to
the park so I could get some work done. 40 mins later they come back in
and he's freaking out. He took her to a different park that had big
slides, she didn't want to go down alone and he was about to take her to
a smaller park when he decided to go down just once with her. Which we
don't do because months ago I read a study/story that said the number
one injury at parks is parents sliding down with LO on their lap and
their little leg gets caught under/behind the adult.
...yep. So
he was completely freaked out. He thought that he broker her knee! He
didn't thank god but she wouldn't walk on it at all. When she got home
we tested it and sure enough I asked her to walk to me and she sits down
from my husband arm, and says "wsch wsch wsch" lol which is the sound
she make to say she's going to scoot somewhere! and tries scooting to me
:-( . Called after hours pedi and they said to take her to the
childrens urgent care. 3.5 hours later we came home with a splint on her
leg. Though this thing is like a freaking cast. It's hardened to the
back of her leg with cast like material and then wrapped in ace bandage.
She can't move it at all. They said to come back on Friday to get it
x-rayed again.
They didn't see a fracture when they did the
initial one but the fact that she still couldn't put any pressure on it
after they gave her ibuprofen bothered them. And one of the really
crappy things is since I'm pg I couldn't go in the xray with her. She
was practically hyper-ventilating from me leaving her :-(

This is the look we get when we ask her to smile lol
Re: LO in splint :-( *edit added link*
Poor baby!!! I hope when you get a repeat x-ray they don't see anything. She looks cheesy in her picture above

And You Came True!
if you try to use the Tiger Balm, maybe try gloves - that stuff is potent on the eyes if you accidently touch them or get hand too close.
@SingleMom31 I wish we could do that. They think they got a pretty good picture of it but the Dr said that sometimes the fracture doesn't show up right away. They are worried with little ones fracturing their tibia and since she couldn't put any pressure on it at all they decided to splint it for the week. I'm hopeful that Friday (1:20pm) she'll be good as new :-)

I was surprised when I heard about the slides too. Though once I thought about it it made sense. I wish I could remember where I read it for you ladies. Probably a parenting magazine or one of my email updates I get on child development.
