October 2014 Moms

So, remember when I said I was icing

a hemi? (along with ointment/baths/everything else)  Yeah.  That sucker is now the size of my thumb and clotted.  I'm having it removed this afternoon.  I know from past experience that I'm going to hate life and everyone in it for about 24hrs afterwards, so good thoughts to my poor FI for having to deal with me.

I'm not looking for any advice.  I just needed to share, and I can't tell anyone irl about this.

Thanks for letting me share my butthole issues!

:D

  • Oh no! I didn't even know they could get that big (or be removed for that matter...I guess I hadn't thought that much about them).

I had a small hemorrhoid after delivering DS, but it went away on its own? :/ I was SO afraid to poop after giving birth. I took the max amount of colace and just prayed that I miraculously could live life without ever pooping again. Turned out not to be a huge deal, and I pretty much danced my way out of the restroom to announce to DH that I had POOPED!

That's my only experience with hemorrhoids, though. I hope you feel better very quickly and never have to deal with those awful suckers again!

I've had others with other pregnancies, and they usually go away in a couple of days with sitz baths, ice, and ointment.  This is the second time I'll need a clotted one removed (last pregnancy in 2008).  It really sucks.  Totally hear you on the pooping with one after giving birth though.

  • I know this is an old post but didn't want to start yet another hemorrhoid thread. OP, how did you know it was clotted?

It was rock hard and nothing brought relief at all.  Mostly it was just how large and hard it was.  So, I asked my doctor, he poked at it, and said it was definitely clotted.
