We went to the pool at our Y this morning and were hanging out in the zero entry pool that goes down to 2 ft. I was holding E's hand and walking around in the pool with him while DS1 was playing with a bunch of little boys his age. All of a sudden a mother sends a little girl into the pool with just a bathing suit bottom on. So her little boobs were completely exposed in a pool full of little boys.
Does anyone else find this odd? The girl was probably a little bit younger than DS1 so maybe 3.5? I just don't understand why they couldn't have covered her top.

Re: Kids lacking swimsuits at the pool?
My friend has a 5 yo and that girl never has a shirt on. But they're French, I think it's a cultural thing maybe?
Bathing suit no top. I live in south fl most boys wear a top shirt as protection from the sun.
@Rachelilly23 I have been in fl way too long. 75 to me is not hot - especially at a pool.
@awesomesauce123 Little boobs wasn't meant to offend, sorry. It was the only thing that came to mind in describing what I saw. I mean, it was clear she had more of something there than, say, a 3.5 year old boy.
At that age, in many kids, you can't even tell the difference between boys and girls, so it wouldn't concern me at all.
Under 2, I wouldn't bat an eye. Under 5 at a private place, fine. But I think this scenario was odd and uncomfortable.
Honestly, I don't understand the thought process of parents who just send their child into a public pool with food smeared down their face. Most public pools have rules about rinsing off before entering. I don't want to swim with the remnants of your child's food, thanks.
My husband is deployed. I'm with my children 24/7 alone. I get that things come up and life happens. People probably judge me all the time for taking screaming kids into stores, but fuck, I dont have another choice. But it's not like they know that. I at least take the time and pay attention enough to my kids to clean them before sending them into public water.
I also don't understand how I sound like I'm being "wayyy judgmental." We all judge. And like I said, there was a combination of things that just seemed off.
