Daycare

Just got into the only open spot at our first choice daycare! It is insane how early I had to start calling around, but I'm glad we got in :D

Re: Daycare

  • Its definitely a good idea to start as early as possible. Here in Massachusetts, some daycare centers have over a year waiting list for infant spots. It's nuts!

  • As soon as I'm passed the scary spotting, cramping, fever stage I've been in, I'll put this baby on the Waitlist at DD's school. They are waitlisted until Jan. right now.

  • We live in a small town and there is only one day care center so we made sure to jump on it.
  • Yikea.. this scares me. Now I feel like I need to start looking and calling already!

  • I don't understand how there can be a wait list for a nursery room for over a year. Isn't that putting the cart before the horse a little? It took us 8 months to conceive LO, I would feel weird having to call and push it back that much.

  • Wow. This does make me nervous. I am too superstitious to make any concrete plans this early, though--like it will jinx us.

  • I worked at a Primrose School for over 3 years and the wait list there was based more on the children that were already attending in the infant room. The wait list is so long not because of people who aren't expecting yet, but by when the current children will move up to a toddler room and make space available for new babies. You might get your baby on the waitlist now but there may not be a spot open until they are 6 months old. We had kids on the wait list long enough to skip the infant room all together

  • I was thinking of looking into the primrose school @mCole8590‌... Are they expensive?

  • I think they are but its an awesome school. My son learned so much there and they do a lot of events so the parents can be involved so its totally worth it

With #1 I didn't even look until after he was born (came early, husband was going to stay home for a while) and we found a center that was ok.  But then when he was 4 months old we found our current daycare and we LOVE it!  The thought of going back to work and leaving the new baby there gives me almost zero stress :)  @SaraJtwo - so glad you got the place you wanted!
