So, DH watches The Ultimate Fighter. He had the most recent one DVR'd and was watching it tonight. Afterwards, it recorded some of FS1. We just watched Chael Sonnen announce his retirement from competitive MMA.
While I'm not a huge Chael fan, I am proud of him for making the decision. The basic situation, for those that don't know-he tested positive for 'banned substances'. Turns out those substances were Clomiphene and HCG. (Common fertility treatment drugs for those that didn't know--I actually took both, and they are also used for male fertility). He and his wife have been trying to start a family for a few years, and this is one of the steps they had to take.
Because the substances are 'illegal' he made the retirement decision. As someone who has been through some of the fertility battles, I am thrilled that he was open about the struggle, and made the decision he did. It says a lot for what kind of man/husband he is.

05/2013 BFP on a Letrozole (Femara)/trigger!
Cerclage, Procardia, Makena, GD (with insulin), MBR, and we made it!
Our Angel was born sleeping at 20 weeks due to IC.

I just was pretty impressed at how open he was about the struggle. Not all that have these issues are open about them. Especially men!
