Collapsed follicle???

Just had CD 12 follie scan. Day 9 showed a few good potentials but today's revealed a 20mm and 15 that had collapsed :-/ never heard of that before? Anyone else ? Feeling kind of discouraged as that leaves only one follie for iui#3 on Wednesday . Oh well-3 is my lucky number [-O<

    You'd think they would have done bloodwork to confirm but I would guess you ovulated early.  I don't know of another reason a follicle would collapse besides releasing its egg.  So they didn't seem to think it was an issue and will proceed with the IUI as planned?  Will you get any additional monitoring?  Are you triggering?

    Sounds like those ovulated. I didn't know that O of later follicles could still be induced since the corpus luteum is now doing its thing. But perhaps that is the wonder of drugs! Hope this cycle works out for you. :)

    Well I guess we will see- triggered tonight and will have iui Wednesday morning. No blood work done. I do have insurance so the cost is minimal. Guess I won't get my hopes up :/
