I can't fit into most of my pants and shorts anymore so I guess I have to go maternity shopping. Where do you guys go? I don't want to spend a fortune on stuff I won't be able to wear after pregnancy.
I got a couple of things from Old Navy, but the majority of my stuff I got from Kohl's. They had a decent selection. I think I spent about $150, and got two pairs of capri's and several shirts. I will be set for summer.
I'm still in normal pants/skirts, but they are unbuttoned & unzipped with a belly band keeping them up. I actually had to transition to maternity shirts & dresses much earlier. Most of mine are from Isabella Oliver & Seraphina, which are probably considered pricey, but a lot of their stuff is on e-bay also. I have a few shirts from Ann Taylor Loft maternity that are decent.

ross, old navy, sears, motherhood maternity. careful with ross. i bought the cutest tank that said line dry, which i did, and it shrunk up to a crop top! i have to re-stretch it before i hang it to dry every time it goes through the wash.
I've bought most of my actual maternity clothes at Motherhood Maternity, but I've bought a few things a couple of sizes up from Target and NY&Co, which have worked well so far.
Burlington, Kohl's, Old Navy, Motherhood Maternity, Target. I think I'm done for now and will see how long these clothes last. I wear scrubs to work, so am not in need of business casual or a lot of clothes, and if I'm just around the house, I'm in yoga or sweat pants for now. I understand what you mean about not wanting to spend a lot of money on stuff you won't be able to wear for long. Buy some staple pieces and go from there.
ON, Kohls, Motherhood and Pea in a Pod. Depending on your budget, you could also check ATL, Gap, Boden. I skipped these last three this pregnancy because I have a lot of clothes from my 1st time around and don't feel like shelling out the big bucks

Old navy doesn't have maternity anywhere by me....however, if someone returns maternity to the store, they sell the items for 50% off. So I lucked out a while back....someone my size returned pants, shorts, etc. jeans for $17. Score.
I'm buying stuff as needed.

I've bought almost everything online. I really like the flash sale sites like zulily and gilt group. But amazon has some good deals too. I was looking more for flowy maxis so I wasn't as concerned about fit.
Target, Gap, and Old Navy. I'm having a hard time justifying the expense, so I've been browsing eBay for some sales. I just feel like everything I buy is either too big or only fits for a few weeks.
I have bought stuff at Target, Motherhood maternity, PinkBlush, Burlington Coat Factory, and have gotten a few nice items at garage sales. I am a bargin shopper!
I posted a coupon code earlier for PinkBlush - Launch20. They have some super cute cloths!
This is my second pregnancy, but first time being this pregnant in the summer, so I haven't bought much, but most of what I've purchased is from Goodwill. Target brings their unsold stock to the local Goodwill, so a lot of what I purchased still had the Target tags on them. I scored a great Pea in the Pod trench coat with the tags from Goodwill for $6.99! I've also stocked up on maxi dresses and flowy skirts for the summer. I did purchase a couple pairs of shorts for things like yard work from Zulily, and I like those, but I can't justify purchasing a lot of stuff new for such a short period of time. I was back in my regular clothes at 8 weeks last time, and before my jeans fit, I could still fit into my dresses and tunics with spanx nylons underneath (which felt great to hold in the initial flabby stomach). As far as swimwear goes, I'm super fair skinned, so I often wear a UV tunic over my swimsuit by Coolibar, so my plan is to wear my bikinis with the tunic over them for lake days.

I've been mostly shopping at Isabella Oliver, Gap, and Old Navy, with a few things from Target as well. Isabella Oliver is pricey, but I've been shopping sales. Plus, I've found the quality and fit to be amazing so I can wear things over and over again and still feel great. Hopefully they will last into additional pregnancies in the future too. I buy basically everything online, except for the Target stuff.

I love Burlington and Ross. I grew up in an extremely frugal family and have a hard time convincing myself to spend more than $15 on any garment. I also like Good Will, again, frugal, but I like that the variety changes so often. Andplusalso I'll only be wearing the maternity clothes for a few months, I really don't want to spend lots.
If I'm perfectly honest, I'm living in non-maternity maxi dresses right now because I actually hate maternity shopping.
I'm so grateful for this thread. I'm 21 weeks today and have decided it's time to start investing in some maternity pieces. My regular jeans and tees are getting too snug! I wish I would've seen this post before placing orders on Target & Kohl's websites. I had no idea about Burlington Coat Factory. Holy cheap! And variety too. Thanks PP's!
I'm plus-sized and have had a hard time finding maternity wear that fit and I liked. I found Old Navy to be the best so far. They aren't too expensive either which is nice. I wear a size 20-22 and the Old Navy XL fits which is surprising; XXL was way too big! Target has some pretty good options too.
Find the brands you like and go on eBay. I've gotten some adorable $40 Motherhood dresses for under $5. I work in an office, so anything I can mix with my pre-pregnancy suit jackets is a win for me.
Gap, as long as there's an extra discount on already clearance prices (paid less than $15 for pants!). My favorite items are from Kohls, both tops and pants and there's a huge selection on clearance on their website. I've also bought a couple items at Ross, but it's really hit or miss in my area. AND I love the dresses and tankini I have from Target.
Thanks so much for all your responses! I went to Burlington which I never would have thought of and got 2 tops, 2 shorts, 1 pair of capris, and 2 maxi dresses (non maternity) for $100! Now I just need to find some good maternity jeans somewhere.
Old Navy as well. I bought shorts and some maxi dresses. One of the dresses isnt maternity and one is but Im hoping the maternity one will still look okay later.
Now Im looking for shirts. With my last pregnancy it was mostly in the winter so I just wore sweaters, didnt have to worry about my bump hanging out. Now that its summer though I need long shirts. Which for some reason seem to be difficult to find.
I like the gap the most so far. And like @Nicb13 said all my dresses I've been wearing so far are regular women's clothing. Hopefully the mid sections won't be too stretched out so I can wear them next year.
ON, Kohls and Target like everyone else said. Also if you have the time and patience try consignment stores and sales! I found some great pants and shorts in excellent condition and for less than $10 each!
Kohl's, ON and Target with a few pairs of pants from MM. Compared to my regular wardrobe, my maternity wardrobe is small but I don't feel bad about buying stuff to wear for 7 months (those of you who don't bust out of your pants at 2 months, kudos!), I still want to look nice and not wear everything to death.
If anyone finds good maternity jeans, let me know. I have several pairs and I hate them all. They all sag and I think they are just too heavy to be held up by a maternity panel.
I bought a bunch of non-pregnancy items from Target like dresses, long stretchy skirts, etc. Most of the summer dresses have high waists so they can easily fit over my belly. I don't like "maternity" clothes so I just buy regular stuff that will work even when I'm not pregnant.
For pants and shorts, I just do the rubber band trick and wear a belly band over the open zipper part to hide it. Works great!
This. I don't really like maternity clothes, and I don't like the idea of investing in a wardrobe I can't use in a few months....
Target, Pea in a Pod, and Macy's (they had some stuff and I was desperate!)
My problem is finding activewear...where can a girl get a pair of maternity workout pants? Leggings don't count since I don't have the...ahem...body for them.
All of my regular clothes were way too small before 16 weeks. ...send that was after a month of unbuttoned pants with a belly band before that. I work in an office so I have to look somewhat presentable and don't want to look like I'm wearing the same outfit every day, do I had to invest in a good number of maternity pieces. Most of my stuff came from Motherhood Maternity/Destination Maternity...and its the only place I've been able to find short length dress pants (I'm 5'2"). I bought a few pieces from Target and a few casual items from Old Navy. I was also lucky enough to find two pairs of jeans and a pair of shorts at Babies R Us 2 or 3 months ago when they were clearing out their brand of clothes...and got them for $5 a piece! I think I still need a few more items so thanks for all the suggestions....I think I'll be checking out Loft and Gap online and see if I can happen upon any sales.

I am not a fan of Motherhood Maternity, over priced and the jeans fit me funny.
I also purchased some items from Burlington coat factory, those items fit ok.
Now Im looking for shirts. With my last pregnancy it was mostly in the winter so I just wore sweaters, didnt have to worry about my bump hanging out. Now that its summer though I need long shirts. Which for some reason seem to be difficult to find.
