Laundry Issue

Okay... amongst all the other stuff on here and the many many many questions that I have being a new mother and all the issues that I feel I'm dealing with, I have one question that keeps driving me nuts.

How does everyone deal with laundry?? I, for some reason, can't seem to get my baby's clothes clean! I throw things into the wash the second they get poop all over them after putting stain remover on them and yet I can't seem to get the poop out of them! Or at least the stains from the poop! I run it on hot water and use the 3x strong baby detergent by babyganics and it STILL doesn't get out!! What am I doing wrong!?!?!?

Advice ladies????

I use shout stain remover. It works like a charm.

Rinse in cold, soak it in OxyClean and then wash in cold water (hot actually helps set stains) with a powder detergent like Tide. I've always found that "regular" powder detergent works better than liquid and better than anything baby specific.

Definitely do a cold rinse first, the heat will set the stains.

blue dawn and hydrogen peroxide. put it right on the stain and let it sit overnight. rinse out the soap, then wash as usual.

I usually wash in cold but because the stains were still there I tried hot to just do something different despite knowing the stains set in hot. Thank you for all the tips. I tried putting detergent directly on the stain, leaving, then soaking and washing and that seemed to work. I will try the dawn and the hydrogen peroxide! Thanks again!!

Not very natural friendly but i spray shout on the poop stains, then wash in cold. I always check them before drying them and sometimes have to rewash but usually the shout gets it out.

My baby has blow outs all the time and we use dreft! I haven't has any problems with getting the poop out

I've been using a babyganics stain spray to pretreat poop blowouts and havent had a stain yet!

Cold water, feels naptha soap bar, scrub and throw in cold wash, I've gotten poo blow outs out of white onesies, ones that have been previously set even. Feels naptha is so cheap, but it works wonders.

Use cloth diapers..never a blowout

Sun is magic on stains though (as it gets it out of diapers).

Rinse with water, soak in oxiclean free solution, wash with liquid detergent (emusifies fat, powder does not).

Don't do anything special before the wash. Check the clothes before putting them in the dryer. If they're clean, dry as normal. If they have poop stains, put it out in the sun. The staining you're seeing is vitamin B build-up, which will break down in sunlight. Breastfed baby poop is entirely water soluable, so there's no need for extra rinsing or stain solutions before popping into the wash.

Once they start solids, that's an entirely different matter.

Thanks everyone... I'll have to start drying out inthe sun.... I have one blanket w some set in stains so maybe that will get it out. Meanwhile I've been putting a drop of detergent on the spot and doing a soak in the washer before the cycle, Seems to be wsorking well,,,, planning to keep some of these soltuions on hand for later use too!

Oh and I am EBF so the breastfeeding tips apply
