Monday check in

How is your Monday going so far? Do you have anything to rant and/or rave about today?

Serious question: Do you ever feel like a two-day weekend is actually long enough? Do you get out of bed ready to tackle Monday mornings with a smile on your face?

I called in pregnant to work today. I haven't done this before, and I got some serious comp time recently, so I don't feel too bad about it. I didn't sleep well last night. I was flopping around like a fish trying to get comfortable from about 2:00 to 5:00, and just managed to fall back asleep when my alarm went off. I had no trouble sleeping through the night and getting up at 5:00 on Saturday or Sunday, of course! So this morning I let myself stay in bed until almost 7:00, then got up and walked the dog and called in to work. I'd say that's a pretty good day so far.

I kind of go back and forth on Mondays. I really like my job, but I'm just not feeling it right now. I think Mondays would be a whole lot better if I could work from home and just not have to deal with my coworkers and customers for one more day.

  • How is your Monday going so far? Do you have anything to rant and/or rave about today?  So far so good!  just a little stuffy today.  I forgot to take my allergy medicine this morning...

Serious question: Do you ever feel like a two-day weekend is actually long enough? Do you get out of bed ready to tackle Monday mornings with a smile on your face? I'm pretty much always good to go on Monday morning.  I love my job and the people I work with.

  • I feel pretty good, though I am starting to wake up really achy even with using my body pillow all night.  Nothing really to rant or rave about.

Today even though I don't have to work, I have a lot of random odds and ends I need to take care of, so I'm not digging the whole Monday thing.  I'm allowing myself to push them off til this afternoon, but overall I'm just not feeling it.

I am excited for our kitchen to be (almost) done!  i am so tired today! Lots of trips to the bathroom last night! I want to go home and sleep. This Monday could be off to a better start.

I think a three day weekend would be wonderful! 2 days just doesn't seem like enough! I do not get out of bed with a smile on my face.  I have a pretty cushy job and NO reason to complain, I am just really tired lately.

  • How is your Monday going so far? Do you have anything to rant and/or rave about today?  Returned to the US from Paris on Saturday, took a car took a wedding in Maine, spent that night at my IL's in CT and finally got home Sunday evening.  I'm a bit exhausted at this point and the first thing my boss asked when he saw me was to inquire why I came into the office today when I should have worked from home/taken a comp day.  He just learned I'm pregnant last week while we were abroad, and now he is handling me with kid gloves. I guess I can't complain about that because it's better than the alternative, but it has its own  +/-.

Serious question: Do you ever feel like a two-day weekend is actually long enough? Do you get out of bed ready to tackle Monday mornings with a smile on your face?  I'm not any amount of weekend would make me get out of bed ready to tackle the work day with a smile on my face - that motivation comes from the type of work I do or the project I am working on at the time.  Even after a 5 day weekend or a 2 week vacation, if I don't like what I am doing there isn't going to be a smile on my face when I wake up in the morning.

  • How is your Monday going so far? Do you have anything to rant and/or rave about today?  Aside from the pregnancy insomnia last night, Monday isn't going too bad.  Have my Endo appointment in about an hour, so I am thinking that my answer might change after that.

Serious question: Do you ever feel like a two-day weekend is actually long enough? Do you get out of bed ready to tackle Monday mornings with a smile on your face?  It depends on what we did over the weekend.  If we had a restful weekend (like this weekend), I don't mind getting back to work on Monday.  I may not wake up with a smile on my face, but I am not normally too grouchy.
