High amniotic fluid

Wondering if anyone has had a pregnancy where their amniotic fluid was extremely high after 35 weeks of pregnancy?

Re: High amniotic fluid

  • So, I have seen a fetal specialist throughout my pregnancy for various reasons. I saw them last week & after the u/s they told me the baby was measuring large for 34.5 weeks (6.5lbs). I didn't really think much of it...they thought DS#1 was going to be big & he was 7lb 8 oz at birth. But when I saw my OB today she said she saw the report about the size and that the report mentioned increased fluid. My OB suggested I get another glucose test done on Monday & proceeded to talk about that, so I didn't ask more questions. Of course I just googled it and am now panicking. I don't know how high it is. What do you know about your fluid levels? What has your doc suggested?

  • Just had an u/s last week at 34 weeks, baby measures large (6 lbs 1 oz) and I have also increased fluid but I don't know how much (tech mentioned it and noted upper normal limit, so it's probably not extremely high). OB did not seem too concerned, we will just do another u/s at 38 weeks to check fluid levels again. I also googled it, and it also freaked me out, but I'm going to trust my doctor. I don't have GD (at least not when it was tested a few weeks ago).
  • My first Dr was concerned that my AFI read 19 at 28 weeks when I got a U/S and baby was just big. Second Dr said I read 21 at 32 weeks and said no big deal unless it's above 25. Third Dr is giving me an U/S tomorrow. I guess it depends on the Dr as to what's concerning.
