please help. .

I'm 15 weeks and a day. I'm having really bad heartburn and my sTomach hurts all the time. This is my second pregnancy but never had this in my first is this normal? If so how do I get it to subside a little? Also is it possible i can feel my baby Move this early?

I also am having bad reflux. I have tried tums and Pepcid/Zantac and think I need something stronger. I am having a hard time eating right because I always feel sick. I am going to ask my midwife this week about stronger meds like Prilosec and Prevacid.

Anyway heart burn and reflux are really normal for pregnancy. The progesterone we produce loosens the valve that keeps acid in the stomach, causing heart burn. Later the baby pushing on the digestive system in the third tri also causes it. Fun times

  • I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday. And the stuff I'm feeling is like a really sharp jab to the side.
  • I've had horrible heartburn for most of my pregnancy. I take tums and that usually helps it subside. Milk also has helped. I also started feeling my baby move at 15 weeks!

I felt a distinct kick at 15 weeks and 4 days. However, this is my second baby - with my first, I didn't feel him move until around 18 weeks.

Pre-natal massage has really helped with my acid reflux. I would discuss the reflux with your OB at your next appointment.

You should talk to your doctor. Cholecystitis/cholelithiasis (gallbladder disease) is not uncommon in pregnancy and mimics heartburn that comes and goes, but then becomes an all the time thing. I had it with my first and waited far to long to address it, I had to have surgery.
