So I went in at 07:30 on 6/9/14 for my induction. Started at 3cm 50%effaced. Pitocin started around 10am, started having contractions but nothing too unbearable... I was checked and had not had any progress, so I was encouraged to use the birthing ball to get baby lower to help move things along. So I labored like that for a while with the pitocin being increased every 30mins. The external monitor was finicky and wasn't picking up my contractions. So I started timing them on my phone, they were 1min to 1.5mins apart lasting a little over a min. The nurse turned down tho pitocin and got the midwife to check me ( since I was clear from the beginning that I wanted an epidural) I was 4cm 70effaced -2 station.

So the anesthesiologist came in for the Epidural. I got lightheaded and my Bp dropped but I got it, and just in time, right after it was in my water broke. And within 10mins I was starting to feel the urge to push.

I told my nurse that I knew I was just checked but that I was having that sensation, she said baby's heartrate would show decelerations, but she would get the midwife for me; well good thing; I was a 10 and the head was right there!!

I had to hold the urge to push, which was horrible and then Rose Harper came into this world with 2pushes leaving me with absolutely no rips or tears. Weighing in at 8lbs 6oz and 21.5inches long.

We did immediate skin to skin and she latched on right away; Rosie is doing well nursing and we are spending our first night at home tonite

Big sister and brother are loving her up and super helpful
