My LO is so gassy.

I try burping her frequently and she does burp and fart during/after every feeding but it doesn't all come out. She is 3 weeks old and seems miserable, crying from it! Yesterday I bought gas drops and they seemed to help a little bit. Today I didn't give them after every feeding and she is getting worse again. I thought BF babies weren't supposed to get so gassy.

I've been watching my diet to avoid gassy foods but it doesn't seem to be helping. Sincr yesterday I've been block feeding BC I suspected I might have a foremilk/hindmilkbimbalance since her poop has been really green and wattery the past several days. I'm worried about messing my supply up but worried more about weeing my little girl so uncomfortable!
I feel like I'm doing something wrong but don't know what!
Re: Sooooo Gassy
Also remember that to a certain extent some gasiness is normal at this age and it's fine to use the gas drops. We used them for a good two months.
Also, if your baby spits up a lot in addition to the gas, I would ask your ped about reflux. We had to put our baby on Zantac because she didn't improve on her own. She still takes it at 6 months and it helps tremendously.
We had a gassy phase too and I cut out most dairy (no milk, ice cream, minimal cheese, etc) and it seemed to really help. I did that for probably 2 months then slowly added back when she got bigger/older and she has no issues anymore. Worth a shot!
@lindseyb624 - I'm glad the gripe water and dairy cut-outs worked for you. I hardly eat dairy but will see if I can cut down more. Thx!
