I am new to the group

Hello Ladies,
I'd like to join the group. I experienced 2 BFNs in a row, April (fresh DE cycle) & May (FET). We transferred two each time. I had a hysteroscopy last week, all looked normal and correct and now I'm getting ready for an endometrial biopsy in July. I'm 42 and had a miscarriage w own eggs 2 years ago.
Any of you have experience you can share w endometrial biopsy?

I don't have any experience with an endometrial bx, but I wanted to welcome you. I'm 42 also and doing an FET with donor eggs next month. I had a cx'd cycle with my own eggs and an ectopic with the fresh donor cycle. Good luck to you!

  • Welcome,
I've never had a endometrial bx myself, but I've assisted a Dr with many of them.  It's a bit like a pap and then then pass a thin catheter through your cervix to obtain the biopsy. The catheter is like a straw and they pull back on it and obtain the sample. It can be a little uncomfortable so you may want to take some motrin before hand.  And bring a pad as you can have some spotting afterwards.  HTH.

  • Welcome! I've been in your shoes with both - my RE requires a hysteroscopy prior to any first transfer and the results are good for up to 18 months. I also had to do the endometrial biopsy because my lining was not thickening quickly. I was advised to take 600mg of ibuprofen prior to the procedure - it was uncomfortable and a bit painful but not unbearable. I did not experience any cramping or side effects aside from spotting after (I second bringing a pad along).

    GL!

  • Welcome!  Are you going to cycle right after the biopsy?  Is the one your doc doing primarily to help implantation or is it more diagnostic?
  • Welcome to the Group!!!
  • Welcome! No experience but my Dr suggested I do one before my FET last week but opted not too :( Wishing you lots of luck on your next cycle :)

  • Thanks for the warm welcome ladies, sorry for the late reply, I couldn't tell I had any (I mostly check with my phone). I start the mock cycle tomorrow and will have the biopsy at the end of June.
brooklynesque the biopsy is diagnostic, I had the scratch procedure (also considered a biopsy) during my last cycle. I plan to cycle once we get the results.
    kushie77Jessarab thanks for the info
@BeckyP005 Good luck with your beta

Looking forward to cheering you all on:-)

  • I've had the etegrity biopsy done. Unfortunately it didn't give us any info as it was 'mistimed' per the lab. But I thought it was a bit uncomfortable, but only lasted 15-20 secs. I did get a bit woozy after it for some reason too, so don't get up too fast! Oh, and one of the nurses had me empty my bladder before the procedure and it was actually supposed to be full, so I hear that makes it a little more uncomfortable.m so, don't go pee! Good luck!
