Trouble TTC

Fert Report

Of the 7 mature they retrieved, 4 fertilized.  Not as great as I hoped, but I'm so pessimistic, I was ready for them to say it was all a big old fail already.  So I'm ok with it.  At the same time, if they are going to only freeze those that make it to blastocyst, I know there's a chance I have nothing to transfer.  Either way, I'm mentally prepping I'll have to do the ER process all over again before they do a transfer, but maybe I'll get lucky and we'll have 2-3 good blastocysts to do an FET in July or August.

The downside is that I won't get my next report for 5-7 days!!  It'll be a long week....I wish my eggs didn't suck!

Me 33, DH 37 -- TTC since Jan'12 -- Low AMH (0.78) & endo, SA w/ low motility
IUI's 1-3 = BFN, IVF converted to IUI 4/13 = BFN
IVF 1.2: 8R 6M 4F -- 2 blastocysts frozen, FET 8/15 = BFP!!
Beta #s = 445;1,098; 9,545  -- EDD 5/2 -- Team Pink!
Camila Josephine arrived 4/30 :)

I think you're doing your best to stay positive and props to you for staying strong through everything you've been put through! Obviously you know this already: I have been discovering that the waiting is the most exhaustive part of IF.

Although this is probably not new advice to you as a veteran, but the things that have kept me sane are hobbies and projects. I have thrown myself into projects around the house and my hobbies: country line dancing, wine charm making, and novel writing. It helps to have projects and goals that you can control the fact that you will have an end result that you can be proud of (as opposed to butting your head against the wall with medical variables that are completely out of your hands).

...I'm thinking of trying underwater basket weaving next :)
    9/09 DX Endo and PCOS
    5/30 married DH!
    11/13 husband DX azoo
5/14 Sperm Mapping - DH gets hematoma as a result, gotta wait 3 months
6/5 we have swimmers! - DH on clomid; still anovul on my side (me to DH: wanna share Clomid?)

Agreed.  I have more plants than ever in my garden this year, even though I added a bunch last year.  In addition to keep my mind off of waiting, it's nice to be able to prove to myself that I can create something.  I'm also flying through books.  This weekend I should probably channel that focus into cleaning the house, lol.

  • Congrats on fertilized eggs!! Wow, that is a long wait for the next report. :( Hope the time goes easily for you.

I like your thought process of already telling yourself it will take another egg retrieval, to try and avoid disappointment...I like to work that way too and find it very helpful! And of course it will be super awesome if it turns out you do have good blast(s) to transfer. :)

  • To another fellow pessimist in the group I just tell my husband that I am not being pessimistic, I am just being honest with myself as I know that things aren't perfect nor fair in this world and sometimes it makes it a bit easier to digest then always being so optimistic and getting hurt in the end.

So I will cross everything and add you to my prayer list this week that a super star emerges!!

    ~*~*~ ALL ARE WELCOME & GREATLY APPRECIATED~*~*~

    TTC since October 2012

Went to OBGYN in August 2013-Referred us to UCONN RE in September 2013

Me (31):  Blood / Ultrasound / HSG / SIS- All Great  -  DH (32): SA is very low

DH met with Urologist nothing is "wrong" just very low count and low mobility

RE 1st Consult October 31, 2013 - Male Infertility Dx.

RE Appointment on 1/15/14-Decided on 1st IUI

    IUI Cycle #1-Clomid 50mg 2/14-BFN

We decided to take a break for 3/14-4/14

    IUI Cycle #2-Clomid 50 mg 5/9-BFN

IUI Cycle #3-(RE Office called us in for a back to back IUI for another SA) 5/12-BFN

*Husband's count is still very low post wash however after 4+ months on supplements, vitamins, and a healthy lifestyle (aka no beer)  his mobility has doubled! I am very happy for him, small victories!

May 2014-RE wants us to progress to IVF as 3 failed IUI's.

IVF Seminar meeting on 6/12 & then meeting with RE on 7/9 to come up with our plan for our miracle baby!
