Super shitty scenario here...
On Tuesday I was nine weeks and two days post C-Section. I was ironing my burlap, intent on making some table runners and placemats (which turned out super cute), and as I was ironing, I felt a cold wet sensation on my upper thigh. I was wearing black yoga pants, but could tell it was wet. I touched it and pulled my bloody hand away... uhhhhh wha????
I ran to the bathroom, and sure enough, my C-Section incision sprung a leak! About a pin hole size, right in the middle was oozing bright red blood which soaked through my underwear, and my pants, and was awesomely running down my leg.
Not a stranger to disgusting things, I started to clean it out. It was pretty gross... anyways, after I got everything pretty much cleaned out, I noticed that the blood was obviously coming from a layer underneath my skin. As in, I would squeeze my skin, blood drop would pop out of the hole, then quickly, suck back in... it was interesting...
Sure enough, I have an infection and am on some strong antibiotics. If this doesn't heal, I am going to have to have the incision re-opened. I told my Doctor that I didn't want the first one, so I sure as hell don't want the second!
I seriously had no signs of this. I healed really well. I had my check up at 6 weeks and passed with no concerns. No fever, no swelling, no redness, nothing!
The positives are that I have no feeling down there, so I'm not in any pain. I live in Canada and can take advantage of the full year off on EI, and Health care will pay for the surgery if it comes to that... I also have a really adorable son, a snuggly dog, lots of movies to watch, and lots of books to read. *trying to remain positive! ...though I am pretty frustrated...
I think I just needed to rant... I know things could be way worse. Thanks for reading!
