Is anyone planning to do this?? I work for a hospital, and had a Dr. acquaintance ask me if we were planning to do this (as he did for both of his children). We could probably swing the cost, but it would be a BIG investment. There is no question that we would make the sacrifice to invest in our child's future health. However, after some research I have noticed that there many of the conditions that the stem cells would treat are genetic, thereby leaving the child's own cord blood useless. The investment would be from one healthy child to the afflicted child.
I would like to be persuaded, if there is another side of the coin.

I feel letting the baby get all of their blood back is the way to go. Delayed cord clamping FTW.
