  • I love baking and cooking. I always get asked to make bread and my crazy cakes (fancy decorated cakes w themes like fish bowl, I did a 3000 GTO, Princess Pumpkin carriage w picture in windows of bday girl). So between those two for baking and cooking I make BBQ pork and unrefried beans (and can the beans) as well as apple butter and jellies that I can. I get requests from family and friends- coworkers said they'd miss my food when they learned I was leaving and started a "Boo Baby" campaign As a joke so I brought in jellies as thank yous and they were happy w that.
My favorite food- depends on week... Seriously, I have a new favorite food each month. This month Sriracha broccoli.

DD's fav food is smoothie- plain Greek yogurt, a banana and some pure fruit Naked juice. She'd eat 10 of those if I let her a day.
Yes- ever since she was about a year stirring things. Yesterday she cracked her first eggs over pannon over and I let her help flip her egg. She has never been so proud lol!
She refuses everything so I always make her try a bite- hard rule and then she can either say no thank you to lore and have more. I'd say 90% of the time she wants more of what she tried. At dinner she has to eat it all unless I truly see gag face and that has only been one food ever- corn go figure, tonight she ate all her broccoli and cauliflower (non Sriracha).

    1. Do you like to bake or cook?
No and no! I really have to be in the mood to enjoy cooking.

    2. Even if you don't enjoy it, everyone's got to eat, right?  So what is your signature dish?
I've been making these honey mustard pork chops recently that everyone has been gobbling up.

    3. Who do you make your signature dish for?  As in who likes it the most (you, your kids, your husband, college roommate, etc)?
DH and DS. I would say DS likes it the most- he will eat two pieces.

    4. What is your favorite meal?
    Pasta

    Yes he loves to help.

  • 1. Do you like to bake or cook?
I really like to bake, however, I don't do it as much as I should, or want. I can cook some things, but not that many.
    2. Even if you don't enjoy it, everyone's got to eat, right?  So what is your signature dish?
I wouldn't say its a "dish" but I make a great shrimp ceviche that everyone always asks for. Its more of an appetizer, but Im always asked to make it. I really only know how to cook a handful of things, fish, homemade lasagne. Basic stuff. Baking- cookies.
    3. Who do you make your signature dish for?  As in who likes it the most (you, your kids, your husband, college roommate, etc)? Anyone that asks for it! :)
    4. What is your favorite meal?
Nothing I make. I think I do too much sampling to actually enjoy the meal. But going out, sushi. Hands down.

    ______________________

    1. What is your kid's favorite food?
If asked what she wants to eat- sushi (which I cannot make), pasta (which I can- dump and boil), or clams (which I can make).
    2. Do you let your kids help you in the kitchen? Absolutely. DH bought me a Kitchen Aid mixer which makes baking cakes, cookies, cupcakes a breeze. She loves to help. Her favorite is cracking the eggs and licking the beaters!
    3. What food do you try to get your kid to eat but they refuse? I can't, for the life of me, get her to eat "kid" type foods. Mac and cheese, nuggets, hot dogs. I wish she would cause it would make things SO much easier when feeding her. I blame myself for this cause 1) I don't like those things myself and 2) I tried to introduce them WAY too late in the game. You reap what you sew. I do appreciate the fact that she will at least try everything once. She expects a chef type prepared meal, which I am just not equipped or experienced to make!

@mommarazzi007 - DD is the same way with the Naked juices. But crimeny sakes they are expensive! Especially when they are $4 a drink. I can't seem to find them anywhere cheaper!

@bananappeal145, I'm glad that you make and enjoy your eggplant parm, but I just can't get behind swapping out chicken for a veggie.  I mean, who ever thought that would be a sufficient substitute? Lol.  But for reals, I love love love chicken parm,  And it's something I've just discovered is possible to make at home.  I don't know why I'd never tried it earlier.

I cook because I have to and because I like food.  But I really enjoy baking.  I even enjoy the opportunity to bake for hire.  Today I made vanilla scones and jarred up some home made lemon curd for my dad for Father's Day.  And I make a batch of maple oat scones for DH.  He was so so excited!

My favorite food will also change with my mood.  I love a good fettuccine alfredo, but haven't been indulging since I want to lose weight.  But maybe I should set a goal or something of when I can have it again…  mmmmm.  Yum.

Edit: Because I'm the worst speller.  Ever.  -__-

I enjoy baking and I have been the designated baker for family events since my teens.  I also do 95% of the cooking at my house.

    1. What is your kid's favorite food?

Applesauce this week.  Next week - who knows?  She's two.

    2. Do you let your kids help you in the kitchen?

I bought her a set of play baking items - mixing bowl, cookie tray with cookies, cupcakes in a pan - so she 'bakes' with me.  She really likes to watch when I am chopping vegetables, or mixing things to bake.

    3. What food do you try to get your kid to eat but they refuse?

There is not much she will refuse - she will try just about anything once.
