Just wanted to share some happy news about IVF funding where I live in Ontario, Canada. The Liberal government had recently announced plans to fund one round of IVF per patient (not the drugs, just the procedure), but this was thrown into doubt when an election was called. Last night the Liberals were re-elected, which means IVF funding in the future is very likely! Yay! Not sure yet if it will be in place by the time I start treatments this fall, but it's still very exciting, and if my first round of IVF doesn't work, it's nice to know that perhaps a second round would be covered.
Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).
We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).

July 2014- IUI#1-Canx due to scar tissue and polyps. TI with the help of Ovidrel. BFN
August 2014- Hysteroscopy to remove scar tissue and polyp
September 2014- IUI #1.1-100mg Clomid, Ovideral, 11.5 million swimmers=BFP
EDD-6/3/15- Our sweet baby Ryan was born on 1/6/15 and is in the arms of an Angel
Dx with IC on 1/6/15

Went to OBGYN in August 2013-Referred us to UCONN RE in September 2013
Me (31): Blood / Ultrasound / HSG / SIS- All Great - DH (32): SA is very low
DH met with Urologist nothing is "wrong" just very low count and low mobility
RE 1st Consult October 31, 2013 - Male Infertility Dx.
RE Appointment on 1/15/14-Decided on 1st IUI
IUI Cycle #1-Clomid 50mg 2/14-BFN
We decided to take a break for 3/14-4/14
IUI Cycle #2-Clomid 50 mg 5/9-BFN
IUI Cycle #3-(RE Office called us in for a back to back IUI for another SA) 5/12-BFN
*Husband's count is still very low post wash however after 4+ months on supplements, vitamins, and a healthy lifestyle (aka no beer) his mobility has doubled! I am very happy for him, small victories!
May 2014-RE wants us to progress to IVF as 3 failed IUI's.
IVF Seminar meeting on 6/12 & then meeting with RE on 7/9 to come up with our plan for our miracle baby!

I agree with pp you never know how long it will take to move something through legislature but you could always ask your REs opinion after they go back to parliament in a few weeks for the budget. Since it was announced before the election and not just a platform promise there's reason to hope it may move quicker but who knows.
