I'm finding conflicting info on the back carry position, is it four months or six? LO is four months, can sit assisted, and has good head control. TIA.

I'd have to look in my booklet to know the correct answer, but I never would have put my son in the back carry at only 4 months. I just don't think he would have been ready and wouldn't want to put that strain on him. I would do what you feel is best, but I'd hold off if you have any doubt because your instinct is probably going to be the most shout on for you baby's needs.
For a back carry in buckles baby needs to be able to sit unassisted as he will sit lower on your back and be harder to monitor for slumping. It's also important that baby fit VERY well in the carrier to avoid slumping issues. The ergo is still big on many 4 month olds without some modification (although not all).
My LO is 7 months old and I still haven't tried the back carry, I really need to. She sits unassisted no problem but she's super tiny. I can't imagine her on my back yet. I guess I need to look up size recommendations.
@ncbelle is it ok to put a blanket or something in the bottom of the ergo if they're kind of swallowed by it and sit really low? I really want to try to back carry with the woven this time, but I'm just curious.
Mama to a little girl born July 2011 and a little boy born April 2014!
Rrrrrachel - for a front carry totally fine but not for a back carry. They really need to fit well in the carrier and be able to sit independently for a back carry with buckles. With a woven, you can get them high and tight so it's ok to do a back carry younger - if you are comfortable with wrapping
