I just saw that the OJ verdict came in 20 years ago today!! CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know we have a range of ages on here, so where were you/what were you doing?
ETA: aparently our news guy was wrong...20 years since the murders
I'm old - I completely remember. They had a TV set up in the high school library during most of the trial and I was there as the verdict came in. VERY mixed reactions throughout my school that day.
"If you're still my small babe or you're all the way grown, my promise to you is you're never alone. You are my angel, my darling, my star...and my love will find you, wherever you are."
I was 8 so really too young to know much about the case but I do remember being in the Newark Airport waiting for our flight back home when the verdict came in. People were huddled around the tiny hanging TVs and I remember loud cheers when it was said that he was not guilty.
I remember my dad making a funny face and that's it. Funny thing is I don't remember much else of that day, just the loud cheers.
BTW, I think you mean the murder was 20 years ago yesterday. Nicole was killed June 12, 1994. The trial verdict came in October 3, 1995.
I was 3 when she was killed and 5 when he was let off. I don't remember anything.
Thanks!! well our news man is certainly wrong then!! either way, I was in high school both times...the verdict of this poll = I'M OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm totally old. I was 15 and everyone in my high school scrambled around trying to find a TV connected to cable in order to watch. This was in Buffalo too, where Simpson played for the Buffalo Bills for years. So most the adults knew who he was before the whole murder trial.
It's so funny to think that some of you were so young during big events in history. It's strange to think of some of you were in elementary or middle school during September 11 and things like that!
@ayanahazel1 I thought of another one...Princess Di's death - what a way to "ruin" Labor Day weekend........glued to the TV and I remember the weather was beautiful here!

Completely! I was actually in the middle of having a party with my friends when that came on TV. My mom and I got up at 5 a.m. to watch the funeral, and it was so depressing! That card with "Mummy" written on it just destroyed me... (
I think I was in the sixth grade? Our teacher actually put the trial on our classroom tv so we could watch the verdict. Looking back now that doesn't seem like her brightest moment.
I remember the high speed chase. That damn Bronco was infamous. I remember being in Applebee's with my family watching it. If that was 20 years ago, I was 6. Only other thing I remember from that time was the phrase "if it doesn't fit, you must acquit" (rest in peace Johnny Cochran), and him getting off.
I remember both the murders and the verdict. I remember specifically coming out of school the day of the verdict and a lot of people being angry. I was 8 when the murders happened and 10 when the verdict came in.
We were in the upstairs commons area of our high school. Some of the teachers had a radio playing waiting for the verdict to be announced. I remember being in complete shock that the bastard got off.

I remember the headline the morning after the car accident. Our newspaper had the WORST front page cover: "DIANA DEAD" and her face took up the entire front page. It was awful and poor taste. I remember the funeral clearly also - crying when the casket wheeled by with the card saying "MUM" on it.

I know what you mean about 9/11 though @ayanahazel1 - I was in my first job out of college for that one - remember it clear as day.
Add me to the old ladies list. I was at my first job out of college for 9/11 too. I thought I was in 8th grade for the OJ verdict but if it was 1995, I was a junior in HS.
