Hello ladies! I'm not sure if this would be the right group so if I'm in the wrong place please just let me know. My name is Courtney I'm 34 and my husband is 44. My husband had a vasectomy reversal back in March and we've been trying since then to have a baby, but I knew before that something wasn't right with my period. The flow was much less and the cramps much worse, I kept addressing this with my Gyn and she kept saying that she wanted us to try for a year before doing any further investigation. Since I knew something wasn't right I sought out a second opinion and found out that I am not ovulating, my new gyn has started me on Medroxyprogesterone to start my period and if that works next month she is going to start me on Clomid.. no one that I know has been down this road and finding other ladies who understand would be a Godsend! Hoping to learn some more from you all!

How long have you been off birth control? If it's only been 2-3 months, I'd take the progesterone and see if you ovulate on your own at least one more time before jumping to Clomid. If you've been off longer than that and are suspicious that you haven't been ovulating for a while, then I could see seeking out medical help now, just please at least follow the advice in the first paragraph. Not doing so risks wasting your reproductive time (if your tubes are blocked or your husband's SA is poor), risks cysts that can damage your ovaries or fallopian tubes, and risks you conceiving HOM.
Good luck.

Good luck! I have hyperprolactinemia too, so if you ever have any questions about that, feel free to PM me.
I know right now it might seem like an overreaction, but I really think you'll be better off with a specialist.
Also, in the meantime, while you are waiting for testing and a plan, you might want to consider temping so that you can see if you are ovulating sometimes, always or never. If you end up taking medication for hyperprolactinemia, like cabergoline, and not taking Clomid at first (you could decide to do only cabergoline or both- there's another medication for it too, but I forgot the name), then temping could be especially helpful in seeing if ovulation returns for you. If you're interested in temping, check out the charting course on FertilityFriend.com.
