Enough head protection in Britax Roundabout?

I'm trying to research an affordable but safe car sear to put in Grandma's car.  She will rarely use it, but of course we want our little ones to be protected.  Can anyone comment on the safety and head protection in the Britax Roundabout?  I can't decide if I should just spring for the Marathon for peace if mind.  Thank you so very much for your input!

  • If it's not used a lot better choices would be the Evenflo Sureride or Safety 1st Guide 65. Both would last longer than the Roundabout. I would check out Car Seats for the Littles, as both of those seats are recommended on there. I honestly would save your money since your not using it much.

  • The Roundabout is fine, BUT it is outgrown very quickly because of it's short shell.  The Marathon will last a little longer.

  • We have a Boulevard in the car where we had to install it in the outboard position. The extra side impact protection gave me greater peace of mind. We have a Roundabout in our other car, where we were able to install it in the center seat, so extra side impact protection didn't seem as critical.
