I am (oddly) superstitious. Today is Friday the 13th and a full moon. It feels like the luckiest day to me. (Breaking a mirror is probably the only one I consider really unlucky.) yesterday I wore both of my grandmothers' wedding rings to my transfer because I honestly felt it would help. Silly, I know.
Nothing unusual here... I'm WFH today and so far have been "multi-tasking" by watching Orange is the new Black while working on project plans. I took the afternoon off so DH and I can go car shopping (and hopefully buying).
Oh here's one -- I really want my doctor to put me on bedrest so I can be done with work. I don't feel capable of what's being asked of me right now, nor do I give a shit about it, and I'm really really struggling. Not sure what to do with only 10 weeks left of work and 12 weeks until my c/s -- not great timing to look for a new job...
@Mommy2BEL - I'm sure you don't look apology worth in your bathing suit!! Wearing it with confidence will make you look 10 lbs lighter. @JSS1002 - what kind of car? You looking for a family-mobile?
DH was in a car accident two weeks ago -- he's fine, but his car was totaled, so we're replacing it. He was driving a honda Accord, but we're probably going with a Honda CR-V, which means we'll have two SUVs (because I drive a pilot) which is ridiculous, but it's what we've wanted for a long time. In a few years when it is time to ditch the pilot, we'll get into a sedan and be back to one SUV. I'm excited about a new car, but bummed because we had just finished paying off DH's car... on the upside, the accident wasn't his fault, and the other guy's insurance took full responsibility, so we're getting $10K to shop with.

My confession is that i'm DREADING calling my dad for Father's Day. We see each other maybe twice a year and talk about 6 (holidays/birthdays). It's like pulling teeth talking to him and often that awkward silence. He doesn't really make the effort and in turn, neither do I. I think I just might text him.

We've both now sustained very serious accidents while driving a Honda -- I was in a TERRIBLE car accident in 2004 while driving a civic - broadsided by a guy running a red light (I was going west on 46th street, about to hop on 35W South), and he flipped my car over and i had to be pulled out through the window... and I walked away with a totaled car, some bruises, and 3 stitches.

I have a love/hate relationship with this new trend of releasing the whole season at once -- on the one hand, the binge-watch is so fun... on the other hand, then you have to wait a whole friggin' year for more!
I have been dealing with some issues in relation to the embryology lab that we used during our IVF cycles. Due to their serious disorganization I have some deep (probably irrational) fears that the twins are not biologically mine. So I've been researching countries without extradition because if for any reason someone wanted or was able to get custody of them I'd run with them as fast as I could. I'm even working on getting them passports so we will be prepared. I'm probably just a crazy person but I have real anxiety about this.
Could you do some sort of genetic test to figure that out? A swab or something? I mean, I'm positive they are yours but this would set your mind at ease.
Yikes @knitfaced Is that a situation where just getting a DNA test to confirm would make you feel better, or don't want to take that risk? And there is so much familial resemblance with you and your son (don't think I've ever seen a picture of your H), that I can't imagine they aren't yours. More importantly, they are your babies in every way that matters. You are the one who birthed them, nursed them, cleaned up their vomit at 2,3,4,5 am, etc. if it comes to it, I'll donate to your run overseas. Those kids are yours.
I feel guilty when I give LO frozen food for dinner, so I just make sure it's organic to get over it
@knitfaced - I"m sad reading this because I know this fear. I had it when in the IVF proces, But seeing as my daughter is the female version of my husband I don't think about it much anymore. I hope you can get past it

@knitfaced I totally get that fear. J came out a spitting image of my husband and I said at least we know she's related to you. Still a toss up with me. Now she has my mom's eyes, so my fears have been eased. Other than a disorganized lab, do you have other reason to feel that way? As the others said, no matter what they are your girls.

My husband usually falls asleep on the couch downstairs because I go to bed before him, and he likes to watch tv and I don't. Usually if I wake up around 2 or 3 I go down and wake him up, but his snoring has been so atrocious lately that I have been letting him stay down there.
And when he asks I just say that I was super tired and slept all night without waking.
And I have been having the most glorious nights of sleep I've had in a loooong time.
My DH falls asleep on the couch a lot too and I am glad! His snoring is so annoying! Plus sometimes my son talks in his sleep, DD has been crying out every few hours because of teething and then his snoring.... that's too many wake ups for me. I am a pretty light sleeper....
My DH is annoying me. We said we were going to have two kids- I would love a third but he only wants two which I am ok with. Anyway so I told him he needed to have a vasectomy... has he done that yet? No. And now he's semi afraid to have sex with me which is SUPER annoying! Go get a vasectomy! I almost think that me getting pregnant again is the only way he'll actually take the effort to make the appointment and get it done! And I wouldn't be disappointed if I did get pregnant again... He better stop tempting me and go get his "balls chopped off" - as he likes to call it.
@Lhyacinth888 - maybe you need to offer to do it at home for him to get him to go? Is he not ready to pull the plug entirely on potentially having more kids? Or is he just a wimp about having it done?

He drags his feet on EVERYTHING. I don't think he's scared, he just claims he is too busy. He decides to do something and then has to research it for like five years and then he's ready... I'm pretty sure he wants to be done with kids though unless he isn't telling me the truth.

No idea. He's been asking me every day for the last week if I have my period. I found out Monday afternoon. I finally told him yesterday that I took a test and it was negative but still no period. He's buying it because since the miscarriage my cycles have been crazy irregular. I've never wanted to skip over Friday and Saturday so bad!

@Knitfaced they look exactly like your son. They do have some of your characteristics though. It must really suck feeling that way and I am very sorry you are going through that. I feel like I would be the same if I had to go through what you had to go through.
Late confession - im having an "affair" with my body pillow. MH comes to bed way late and then is always far too exhausted to cuddle or do anything else. The body pillow is helping me sleep better at night because I can cuddle with something, so there you go.
I've been having an affair for years. Body pillow doesn't twitch while it falls asleep, doesn't breathe down my neck, and doesn't have scratchy hair. Works for me.
