You can also jut take a screenshot of what you're typing in the box and attach the image iPhone screenshots by clicking your home button and lock button at the same time.
On the iPad it looks like you are not in the html mode (this should be automatic) it's the pale yellow background in the box you are typing in.
If you're on the iPad in the formatting buttons - click the one that has two orange brackets like greater than less than symbols.
Then try typing the img src blurb.
