Pillow for LO

Maybe this is a dumb question, but if your LO is using a pillow, what are you using? DD is still in her crib, so I feel like a regular pillow won't work.

Any suggestions?
Our little Samosa arrives in January!

    I think it will be a while before dd will use a pillow. She will lay on mine occasionally, but I think it would just end up either not being used or thrown out of her crib.

    I make a fake pillow for DD. She has a zillion of those baby blankets so I make a pillow my folding a crochet blanket in thirds and then wrapping a really soft fleece one around it. The result is a flatter pillow that is the width of the short side of the crib. Some nights she sleeps on it and some she curls up with the blankets.

    I bought a plain couch pillow from Joanns and then shortened two pillow cases with my sewing machine so I could wash the pillow cases. It works out perfect bc he loves pillows but I didn't want to put a whole pillow in his crib yet.

    DD sleeps face down. I'm guessing she's smart enough to not suffocate but a pillow makes me worried. If she's stuffy from a cold + face down on a pillow... sounds like it could be a disaster.

    DS uses a pillow pet or his fleece blankie balled up.

    I bought a toddler pillow from Amazon.  It's probably a scam because it's basically just a pillow you'd get on an airplane  with a silky cover, but it was only $9.  She loves it, but most of the time her belly is on it instead of her head LOL  For ds, I just gave him one of my old flat pillows.  I just didn't have an extra one for DD yet.
