Weird Q for moms of boys

OK, so remember that I haven't dealt with many baby boys and don't make too much fun of me for not knowing this! ;)

Since he was born I've noticed that Nicholas' penis sort of retracts in and even inverts a bit. It looks like a fleshy "innie" belly button most times when I go to change his diaper. And (I'm not sure how to say this) it's not like his penis is abnormally small. From what I can tell, it looks normal sized. It doesn't seem to bug him.

Is that normal? I keep meaning to ask the pedi but there's always something else to talk about and I forget. And "inverted penis" is NOT something I want to google.

    I think it's normal. DS's will do that sometimes if he is cold. I wouldn't say it happens often but I guess it could.

    Normal, but you need to push it back gently with every change and bath to keep the skin from adhering, and to keep it clean.

    As @abseptember‌ said, it's related to the squishy baby fat pad. It won't do it forever - as he grows and leans out it will stop hiding. ;)

    Thanks everyone! I have been "popping" it out to clean it well and to neurotically check for hair tourniquets. I'm glad to know it's normal. I wasn't worried but definitely curious, so thanks for the help!

    Exactly what everyone else said. Happened with my boys too. DH used to get very concerned that they were going to be seriously under endowed. They are all normal btw. Lol
