Correlation...?

Since DH confirmed the sex of the WeeNut as a girl, I've wondered about the correlation between the baby's sex (female) and leukorrhea.

My doctor had mentioned that leukorrhea is caused by excessive estrogen, and at the time, I hit up the Googles looking to see if perhaps my creating extra estrogen wasn't so much due to me, as due to the fetus' sex.

I never could find anything definitive on the internet (actually, I pretty much found NOTHING; but my Google-fu is pathetic).

Now, I don't remember this being an issue when I had DS 16 years ago; but then, I was pretty oblivious for most of my pregnancy.  But, this time...lots of discharge and it's a girl.

Has anyone else who's had a girl and leukorrhea wondered if there's a relation between the sex and the estrogen imbalance?  Just me?  I was honestly curious about others experiences.  :)

Re: Correlation...?

  • I haven't read into this at all - actually this is the first I'm really hearing about it. I'm having a girl and have had a lot of excess discharge. My skin has been a lot more clear, though. Honestly, I think this all goes into the "every roman is different" category...

  • It was just something I'd been curious about back when we were Team Green.  I was kind of looking at anything and everything to "tell-but-not-tell" me what the sex might be.  Googling everything from heartrate, to where/how I was carrying...you name it, I was curious about it.

This was just another of those things I was curious about, and to me, it logically made sense, but I was curious if there was any data or personal experiences that might back up my thought process.

  • Not really true for me either..

-I have had an increase of acne (upper back and chest)

-I didn't really have bad M/S, moderate nausea for a few weeks but I never threw up.. and it was nothing to write home about.

    -I haven't had excessive discharge.

  • I'm having a girl, and I haven't had any extra discharge and didn't have any morning sickness or skin issues. I have also been told that I'm carrying high like a boy. So I think everyone is just different.

  • This is my 3rd, I've definitely had more discharge than usual with all three, but not nearly as bad as with DS, who was my 2nd. My skin has been much clearer with all three (DD, DS, and this little one, DD2), but it has been ah-maz-ing with this one especially. I have pretty oily skin and hair normally, but now I can go 2-3 days without washing y hair which is unheardof for me. Loving it!!

  • Well damn ladies, way to blow my theory.  ;)  LOL!!
