Hi, this is the first time I've ever posted. I've had 2 unsuccessful iui's and one on Tuesday. Follicle study yesterday said I did not ovulate so dr ordered profasi injection and iui for today. My last 2 iui's were painful. Tuesday was the worst - I think the dr had trouble reaching my cervix. Bleeding and pain after- I thought, "ok, if this doesn't take, I have a month to recover...." But here I am, waiting for my husband so I can take the specimen to the lab for the wash. I'm very nervous and worried about the pain. Didn't mean to ramble on, but that's my story
Re: 4th iui today, nervous and looking for support
PCOS | Anovulatory | Metformin + Letrozole
Does anyone have suggestions for staying calm before/during the procedure? My husband can't be there with me today
I know this always sounds way easier said than done, but try to relax your vaginal muscles. We tend to clench them when we anticipate pain or discomfort and that can make the experience that much worse. Take deep breaths while they do the IUI. That's what I do when it starts to hurt and it helps a bit.
And just remember it will all be over soon!
