Vent: Unhappy people

So we are over the moon about this pregnancy! Some of my closer friends who knew we were tryin and asked every month if we were preg and when we would try again were the first people I told. Now they are pulling the ohhh you're only 5 weeks, still to early to be excited. Hello our hcg is 1890!!!! Something is going on down there.

Telling mom and oldest sister this weekend and already feeling nervous about that because they aren't the most supportive about my relationship with S, but therapist agreed I need to tell my mom and now and not later at our 4th July beach trip. This will give her time to adjust and she will understand why I am babying S like I am.

I know there are risks and stuff can happen but this is a big deal! Just be happy WITH us. Ugh!

we have only told our moms & M's dad. I am still a little nervous to tell anyone, but we've been holding this whole process in for 2 months already ! we are thinking about telling our siblings this weekend but i feel like it's too soon.... I want to see how beta 2 comes back.

on the negative side- my moms first reaction was "you cant not work" i'm like mom its 6 weeks (M is planning to stay home for a bit after that) otherwise-- she is pretty surprised. well everyone is because we kept every step so far a secret.

Well I'm excited for you @mrs&mrsk! It's an exciting time. I told my mom jan 2013 we were starting to try. She wasn't thrilled but has warmed up to it. We had a miscarriage/ectopic on our 1st try and all she said was, "oh." She wasn't supportive for me at all like she normally is.

We are only telling the few people that knew we were trying because when we had miscarriage I lost it and people asked what was wrong and I had to tell somebody.

thats what we figured too- we will only tell whoever we would tell if something were to go wrong as well. I cant wait to see our hcg levels tomorrow !

Congrats to you! I know that this is no replacement for your "real life" family and friends- but I'm cheering for you here

Early or not, today you are pregnant. Celebrate it today! I always take five or ten minutes at the end of each day just to sit and "talk" to my belly. Just to enjoy this moment.

Your pregnancy and your little one is just as real today as it will be in five, or ten, or twenty more weeks!

Sorry you are dealing with not so positive reactions. Surround yourself with people who will support you and be happy for you. You have some awesome numbers going on - definitely something to be happy about and celebrate! I'm eagerly awaiting your first u/s - as I'm sure many of us are.
