Our crazy two weeks are officially over. We have done Portland-->Home-->Dallas-->Houston-->Dallas-->Home in twelve days. I'm exhausted.
Highlights -
DS did really well on every flight. He fell asleep on two of them. Very few tears shed. All in all, flying was a complete success.
I got to see my bestie for two whole days. We picked up right where we left off and were still calling each other while I was back in Dallas. I can't believe it will be another two years before I see her again.
Met my new baby niece. Did not kill my sister's BILs. Huge accomplishment, as they are dumb as bricks and arrogant as hell. Proved them wrong while watching a baseball game not once, but twice. Yeah, you got schooled on sports by a girl. (They are self-proclaimed "huge baseball fans"...pfft.)
Lowlights -
DH has no capacity for empathy (seriously, it's like a diagnosible mental problem), so I got pretty well pissed off at him more than once for being an unfeeling d-wad.
I was sicky sick sick about every other day. If the day started with me nearly passing out in the shower, then the whole day was f-ing awful with nausea and headache and general "I feel like crap"-yness. One of those days included the day we flew to Texas. At 6:30am. Gah.
I'm too lazy/inept to Bump on my phone so I missed seeing what all of you were up to. I perused a day or two but only for a bit. :-( What was decided for book club?
ETA: My house smells bad. Someone left something in the garbage and it reeked. I'm Febreezing like a crazy person.
All in all - we survived and had some fun too. But I am oh-so-glad to be home.
Re: We're Back
LOL...oh dear. I don't think I can handle another Utah hair discussion right now. Give me a week to recoup.
Teach...it's a ongoing, complicated issue with DH. Usually if I can make him aware of the fact that he's doing xyz and that it (emotionally) hurts me, he will make an effort to stop, even if he doesn't exactly understand why. I was just too tired and sick to deal with it, so I resorted to being pissed off instead. Not that he doesn't hold any of the blame, but it's not a new issue.
