Numbness and tingling in hands??

I just turned 39 weeks and a few weeks ago, my hands a feet started swelling. About a week and a half ago, I started getting numbness and tingling in my fingers that lasts all day and doesn't go away no matter what. It got worse over the last week so I went to see a chiropractor. He told me it was nerve damage and not carpal tunnel an my OB said it should go away once the baby is born, since the baby is growing a ton and probably pressing on something. It's driving me nuts since I'm having trouble doing everyday things like writing, drying my hair, etc. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, does anyone have any tips to help it feel better? I know I'm super close to having the baby, but it's driving me nuts!!

    I wear wrist braces at night to help keep my arms straight and avoid pinching nerves. My chiro said it was more likely radial tunnel syndrome (a bit further up on the arm). I'm hoping it goes away after birth too. One exercise I do is opening and closing the hands repeatedly (sets of 10-12) to build up strength int hose muscles and get blood flow.

    I'm 23 weeks and my left arm and hand often go to sleep. I think the baby is on a nerve

    I am 39 weeks and have the same thing, it does go away during the day sometimes but very often my hands will just go numb or tingly and if im sitting for just a little my feet will fall asleep! O and the very tips of my fingers in my right hand are almost always tingly! Its so strange but I guess pregnancy does some very strange things to us! Nights are so frustrating because my arms are always getting numb as soon as I lay on my side! Hanging one arm off the edge of the bed helps sometimes! Hang in there, we are almost done!!!

    Sounds like pregnancy induced carpal tunnel to me. I have had it most of my pregnancy thanks to all of the extra fluid/swelling. Everyone tells me it goes away after birth, but that it can take a few weeks. It's very common and very annoying!

    Thanks for all the feedback! I was told I could get a shot of cortisone in my hands once the baby's born, to help it go away if it doesn't on its on. It's just so frustrating, not being able to do everyday things!
