All are welcome to join us!  Please give us an intro with the following information if you wish: name(s)/age(s) of your child(ren), EDD(s) and where you are in your TTC journey.

Re: TTC a Rainbow Sibling Check-in (June 12)

  • Good morning.

My lap/HSG went pretty well, and my recovery has gone really well but I am still exhausted! The good news is that they found that both of my tubes were open during the HSG. The right one was thought to be closed, so this was encouraging. My doctor flushed dye through both sides and also used the catheter to flush them out a bit. The pressure looked good, so my tubes are clear. The not so good news is that I do have endometriosis. They found endo on my uterus, bladder, right ovary and right tube. They were able to remove all of the endo except for the spots on the right tube. The right tube is actually stuck from the scar tissue and from a pocket in the protective tissue surrounding the abdominal organs. This is making for some weird positioning and may be making it harder to get pregnant. The endo was too extensive on my tube to use the laser to remove it, so we are left with the option of trying for a few months and then thinking about having another surgery to try to remove the endo using a robotic tool. Or jumping into another surgery right away. At this point, we are planning to try for a few months and look at having the surgery in October or November possibly. We do need to talk to my other doctor as I have only met with one since the surgery. I am concerned b/c my doctor mentioned that we may be at a higher risk for miscarriage with the endo still on that tube. That concerns me! If anyone has any experience with this, I would love to hear from you.

QOTW: Hmm, honestly, I would probably go on a shopping spree and buy clothes, jewelry (like the kind from Charming Charlie, nothing fancy or expensive) and makeup. I would splurge on Urban Decay Naked 3, haha! And maybe even (gasp) buy some clothing full price! I may have said I would have bought a stand mixer, but my mother-in-law just found me one at a garage sale, yay MIL!

  • Good morning everyone!

I'm Grace and TTC #2 since Dec 2013.  This is the first cycle I've included temping w/ my charting and so far so good; I like it it better than I thought I would.

Thanks for the check in  @bookishmomma! I feel good and am hoping for the best this cycle.

@Lizzyrella I don't have any advice to give but I hope that your recovery is a smooth one!

QOTW:  If you gave me $500 right now I would go to my favorite store - Lilly Pulitzer and buy a couple of dresses for this summer.  I drool every time I go in there but unfortunately when they are not having their seasonal sale everything is pretty much out of my budget!

  • Good morning! I'm running around cleaning up my house today. It looks like a bomb went off in here. I also have to pack for the beach and finish paying some bills. Still looking forward to seeing the RE and now the 23rd doesn't seem so far away. I will be glad to put this month behind us.

Question for y'all: I have been extremely shaky, dizzy and nauseous lately. I'm not sure what is going on. My body feels achy at night, I can't sleep and generally just feel sick. It almost like that feeling you get when you are really hungry and you feel like you're going to faint. Has anyone else felt like this after a mc? The only other thing it could be is the aspirin regimen my OB started me on but I've been taking it for two months now. I haven't seen the RE yet so I really don't know who to call about it. Could be all that wine I had at the wedding last weekend. Ha.

QOTW: I would definitely buy a nice big tote-style bag. My purse is embarrassing. I've seen old ladies carry nicer bags.

I have felt a little bit like this off and on, too, since my D&C. I actually asked my primary care doc to run a test for my iron levels to make sure they were not low. I've been anemic in the past and remember having similar symptoms. The iron tests came back fine, though, so I'm just chalking it up to wacky hormones. It might not hurt to have your iron levels tested, though, if you haven't recently.

  • @goldengirl84 I would call your doctor.  I haven't had that experience personally with baby aspirin, but I remember reading about a couple of women who have.  Since you're benched until you see the RE maybe you could stop taking it for a few weeks.

@Lizzyrella YAY for having open tubes!  I'm so sorry they found so much endo though.  It sounds like you have a good plan in place but I think you are right to talk to your doctor about your concerns.  FX that you won't need another surgery!!

@Graceanne927 Welcome!  FX that the charting and temping help you get your BFP soon!

@sarcaztic10 DON'T GET ME STARTED ON WELLS FARGO (I hope I don't offend anyone, soory)!  They were absolutely horrible during our last home purchase and we will never go with them again (hopefully).  I'm so sorry things aren't going as planned!  Hope everything works itself out including AF showing her face!

  • AFM:

Thanks for the check in @bookishmomma!  Hope you are having a good day so far!

Think AF made her exit today.  I saw my acupuncturist yesterday and I always love going there.  I like her so much and I've been seeing her for 10 months now!  She's not a drug pusher, but she's been really encouraging me to take Chinese herbs as a supplement for a long time and DH is adamantly against it.  Until now I've listened to him because I wanted all of my doctors to know my body without any added drugs, but since things haven't worked for me the Western medicine route it's getting harder and harder not to try them.  I have a good friend who is an OB in NJ and he said the herbs she wants me to try won't harm me so I might give them a try.  I take my Femara until Saturday and then I have monitoring next Wednesday to see how things are cooking.  I'm trying to stay positive about this IUI cycle but it's getting harder and harder each cycle.

  • She did prescribe me some herbs the last time we were TTC, but I got my BFP before I had a chance to fill the Rx. It was for this one: Maternal Herbal.

I've taken herbs in the past, though, along with acupuncture, prior to TTC. Honestly, I stopped because they were expensive.

Mine is something called Jing Qi Formula from Golden Flower.  She wants me to take 2-3 each night after I finish the Femara and before the monitoring.

I never got a + opk but I continued using them and started getting very light test on CD 17 so I am praying that ovulated around CD 14 OR 15. Praying hard that this month could be our month, but to be honest with myself, I am not feeling very hopeless because I have taken two pregnancy test (first June 11, 6-7 dpo and the second June 12, 7-8 dpo and they have both been negative, but also know that it could still be to early to test but for me it a hard to play that waiting game. Question of the week: If you gave me 500 dollars I would buy myself some summer shirts and shorts.

Hey Everyone! This is going to be a PNR because my MIL has my son for a sleep over, and DH and I are going to dinner and the movies! Yay! So far, no AF. I did have a positive digi opk on June 7th though, and of course DH and I had BD on the 4th, 5th and AM of the 7th (before i got a +) just because we were back into the groove of things after the MC.  I hadn't had much CM just a few random days leading up to the + so I didnt think anything of it. Soooooo... theres that...lol.  I'm sure nothing will come of it to be honest because I've been trying for 9 months on my own and not a dang thing. Only got the bfp with the help of clomid + trigger. Anyway, I hope that everyone is doing well and I will try to respond individually after my date night ;) ((hugs)) to everyone who needs them, and hell, to everyone who doesn't, too! :)
  • Thanks for the check-in @bookishmomma! My sinuses haven't been as bad, until yesterday. Not sure why, I'm better today though. I had my OB appt yesterday for my Pap. I got kind of annoyed because he referred to my mc as a pregnancy scare. I corrected him and said it was a surprise, but not a "scare". Beside that he was very friendly like normal and answered all my concerns. He did say he was happy we are ttc again and that I'm temping. He said since I am not consistant with the times I wake up because I ultra receptive if DD wakes up that he thinks I should use OPKs. I ordered some from Amazon, just in time to be able to start testing during this cycle. I've never used them before so if any of you have and have any advice I will gladly take it ;). Other than that, my weeks coming up are going to get busier with BDing with DH and family functions every weekend. I'm also hoping that this month is GL for us since it was 2 years ago this month that we conceived DD!

QOTW: If you gave me $500 I would buy new clothes (mostly shorts and dresses).

    All are Welcome!

  • BookishMomma thanks for the check in. I had my phone interview with HR and the passed me on to the next round which is a 45 minute phone interview with the department head. I am totally sweating what we are going to talk about for 45 minutes.

QOTW: Who bad is it that I really am having a hard time coming up with something? I am so used to my money going towards bills, DD, the house, the dogs vet bills, some car breaking down etc that if I had a $500 freebie that had to be used for purely selfish reasons I don't really know what I would do. Most likely clothes shopping. I wear one shirt that I wear regularly that I bought for my friend's 30th....we are turning 37 this year.

sarcaztic10 good luck with the closing, hope it goes smoother from here

@Lizzyrella sorry for the mixed news, FX for you

  • Hi ladies!  This is a bit of a P&R so hugs to those who need them this week.  <3

AFM: Prolactin and clotting blood work came back normal.  Still waiting on our karotyping.  It should be another week or two until we get those results.  We will definitely hear by the end of the month.  I'm currently on CD12 and my chart has been kind of all over the place (DD is having some sleep issues which are not helping).  We've just been DTD every other day to cover our bases but I don't think I'm near O yet.  I am drinking POM this cycle.  I had taken it with DD and although I don't know if it helped, I'm getting to the point where if it doesn't hurt I'll try it.

QOTW: I would splurge on a spa day.  Definitely feeling overworked and need a break!

  • Thanks for all of your thoughts and hugs, ladies. Trying to rest up as I have to venture out to a chiropractor appt with my 3-year-old tomorrow. Should be interesting to get her in the car since I can't lift her yet. Today was my first day without my mom helping, and Cora was an angel! So proud of her!

  • I would like to be added to the list.  We have two boys ages 2 and almost 5.  I was due in Sept but lost our baby boy in April at 16 weeks.  We are jumping back on the TTC wagon. We stopped preventing last cycle but are going to start activily trying this cycle. I'm on CD 11, waiting to O.

QOTD: I would buy clothes and have a facial.

  • Hello, I'm sorry I'm so late. We were up in New Hampshire for the weekend for a few things, my sister was in the hospital (we found out on Tuesday she had ovarian cancer), a childhood friend has a stillborn little girl in Feb and they had a her memorial service, and of course Father's day in all of this.

TTCAL related, I'm on CD 9. I O'd a tad late last month (cd 21 compared to 17-18), just when I think I have a handle on my cycle, I'm hoping it goes back this month. I hate waiting to O!

This is the last cycle before I go to see my doc for my annual appointment. I'm nervous to talk about getting help. I fear not being taken seriously and then having to find a doctor that will.

QOTW: I would put it towards my credit card bill.
