Teething questions

My daughter is 4 1/2 months old and I believe that she has started teething.  She drools a lot during the day, but doesn't seem to be in much pain.  Every night around 730pm, she gets very fussy, she bites her bottom lip and screams in pain or will chomp down on her hand and do the same.  She doesn't do this at all during the day.  She has also had more poopy diapers and feels a little warm to me at night, though upon taking her temp it's not high.  Is all of this fairly normal?

I've been using the frozen teething toys and she seems to like those and will suck on them till they are warm again.  I've also been putting the organic orajel on her gums and if she's really bent out of shape I give her Tylenol before bed.  Her lower gums feel swollen.

I'm skeptical about the amber necklaces, any other tips?

Frozen teething toys and Sophie the giraffe have helped my son, but generally if he's super fussy I just give him Tylenol and then he's fine. My son also had all of the above symptoms at 4-5 months (especially the drool and chomping hands!) and didn't get his first tooth until a few weeks ago. So it could be a cold rather than teething.

DD2 (four months) currently has those symptoms as well.  I freeze damp baby wash cloths and give them to her to suck on after  they have "thawed" for a few minutes. Other teething toys have done nothing for her. These help...

I too am skeptical about the amber necklace.  It looks like a choking hazard waiting to happen.

Could not agree more about the choking hazard!
