STM+ Sex while dilated?

in 3rd Trimester
I have been on bed rest which obviously means no sex either. I am off bed rest now that I am 34 weeks and starting at 35 weeks all my restrictions are lifted (other than heavy lifting of course). I am currently 5cm dilated and 80% effaced. I completely forgot to ask my doctor but, is it safe to have sex when you are that dilated? Can't my membranes rupture? Have any experienced moms out there had sex while they were dilated and experienced any complications?

I plan on asking my OB I am just curious what your experience has been. TIA!

    I walked around for 3 weeks 3-4 cm dilated before #4 was born and for sure had sex during that time period. His semen will ripen the cervix and I would say you want to keep this baby in for a few more weeks so I would definitely call your dr before you do.

    You can have sex while dilated, but no sex after your water breaks.

    I was dilated today as well and modified bed rest lifted. My MFM told me to do whatever I wanted now including sex.
    Started ttc may 2012 Me:32. Dh:31 SA- 4% morphology Fsh:9.1 possibly not always ovulating Hysteroscopy/lLap 7/13 resulted in polyp removal, uterine septum, and mild endo stage 1 removed 10/13 IVF #1 successful

    This, but ask your doctor given that you just got off bed rest & are still very early to even want to chance preterm labor.
