It's a GIRL!

*poof* arrived on June 9th at 10:59pm. She was 8 pounds, 10 ounces and 21.4 inches long. She's got just a bit of hair and is beautiful...we love her so much. Oh, and she is BREAST FEEDING! For those who don't remember my past comments about it, DD1 never latched despite weeks of lactation consultations and such so I pumped for 11 months and really didn't want to do that again. I'm so thrilled *poof* is latching and have all my fingers and toes crossed that it continues.
Shortish version of the birth story: contractions started Sunday evening and kept me up most of the night. They were almost close enough to go in by 8am Monday morning but then started to spread out again which was so frustrating. By 4pm they were averaging about 7-8 minutes apart but I couldn't handle the pain anymore so to the hospital we went. I was dilated to 6, 90% effaced and baby was super low so they kept me. I got my epidural and things were smooth sailing from there. I napped a little and did have some pitocin to get the contractions closer together. Baby responded well throughout. I only had to push for about 5 minutes before she emerged and told us all about it with her best little cry. DH saw her first and told me "it's a girl!" through tears which was so amazing. Skin-to-skin was great and that's when she nursed for the first time. I cried more when she nursed than I did when she was born, lol.
I have a small tear but am recovering well. *poof* is doing great and big sister *poof* was pretty excited to meet her yesterday. We're heading home in a few hours and feel so excited and blessed to start our new adventures as a family of four.
Big thanks to my LB
@mfilosi who is awesome even though I sucked at updating her. Can't wait for your little guy to arrive too!
Images went *poof* too.
